what is your morning routine like?

my mornings look like, hop out of bed, make self tea with fresh ginger. I bought the biggest root they had at the store. Next I gather the girls around and nurse while reading books and or watching youtube clips of cartoons (whichever I have energy for, books take effort to keep everyone on the couch together, youtube equals peace).  I open something prepackaged for breakfast so I don't have to smell anything, and then we go for a walk around our little suburb to see the horses and or the cows.  If its the right day of the week, our neighbor walks with us with her dogs.

what do you do in the morning?  Or an average morning anyway :) our weekends are wildly unpredictable.

My alarm goes off at 6:15, but I have been waking sometime between 4:00 and 6:00.  At that point I use the bathroom, rinse my mouth, drink about 1/2 cup of water (more can make me throw up), and then eat a few almonds in bed, or if I feel actually hungry I go downstairs for cereal and then back to bed.  Some days I get back to sleep, some days not.

When I get up for the day, I have as much breakfast as I can stomach.  Some days it isn't very much.  I shower and get dressed and walk my son to school.  If I'm feeling very weak, I make the walk easier by leaving my bookbag at home and coming back for it (I get to work by bus; there are two ways to get to bus stops from the school, one of which takes me back almost past home anyway) and maybe have a second breakfast at that time.  I'm supposed to get to work by 9:00, but it's flexible, and some days I've been late.  I function better at work if I've gotten enough food in before I arrive.

By the time I get to work, I have walked a mile and a half--between home, school, bus stops, and office.  Some days I have to sit down and rest.  But I think the exercise is good for me.

We bedshare with our 15 month and DH leaves for work around 5:30. DS (2.5) typically comes in to snuggle and we sleep until 7ish. Both typically want to nurse at least once between 5:30-7.

I'm a new FLYlady follower, so I make the bed, swish and swipe the bathroom, and get everyone dressed. Breakfast, circle time and project or baking with DS (DD typically joins in too) and then outside time.

DS wakes up around 6:30-7 these days, and I usually send him out to DH, who is usually already up.  I don't go back to sleep typically (unless it's the weekend), but I take a few minutes to check email and mentally get ready for the day.  After 10-15 minutes, I get up and make myself a (decaf) coffee and DS a tea and unload the dishwasher.  Then DS and I cook breakfast together, usually something involving eggs, maybe some bacon or breakfast sausage.  Pancakes for a treat (I make 2 ingredient banana/egg pancakes that DS LOVES - great for anyone who's GF/DF).  We take our time eating together (DH has gone to work by then, he never eats breakfast).

It's a very ingrained routine now, and DS has his "jobs" in the process - putting away the silverware, breaking the yolks after I crack the eggs in the bowl, putting the butter in the pan, carrying his plate to the table.  I really enjoy our long, quiet mornings.
