Weight Loss

How's everyone doing?

With my son, I gained 50lbs but I had massive swelling. I was down to my pre pregnancy weight by 8 weeks PP. I'd lost 20lbs before leaving the hospital.

This time, I gained 40lbs. Today, 5 days PP, I'm only down 5lbs. It's really disheartening.

I gained 28 pounds this time. I've lost half the weight. It's 5 weeks tomorrow and I'm holding steady at 14-15 lbs above pre pregnancy weight. I doubt I'll lose it while nursing. At least for a few months. The same thing happened with my first. I lost half the weight and held on to the rest while I was nursing. I only nursed dd1 for 4 months though. I'm hoping to go a year this time and I've heard after 5-6 months of nursing you start losing the weight? I hope so! I want to lose about 10 more pounds off my pre pregnancy weight too.

I only gained about 30lbs this time, and it's only day 2 postpartum. No idea about weight as we don't have a scale, but I wanted to say I put on my abdominal binder yesterday and it is AMAZING. I've taken it off once, and I already look better than I did at several weeks postpartum with DS1. I'm so excited.

Where did you get that at?

It's a squeem. I ordered it from Amazon. Only problem is i ordered the size L and I think I'll need a M very soon.

I'm not even going to worry about it for a few weeks. I did weigh myself today and am down 10lbs from pregnancy, but figure that was baby and fluid. Going to start walking next week and take it from there, and not using nursing as a license to eat as I did last time.
I am going to get a binder though, since I got a diastasis this time and I'm hoping it will help tighten the muscles back up.
ETA: I gained about 20 lbs from prepregnancy weight but would ultimately like to lose 40.

Yeah, I gained 30 but want to lose 40, ultimately.
I think I may have a broken rib, and having the binder on does seen to make that pain more bearable. It feels funny to take it off, with everything being kinda loose.
I'm with you, haurelia, about not being worried about weight loss for a while. All the same, I'll be curious to weigh myself next time I have a chance.

I put on about 40lbs, I'm 2 weeks pp and I've lost maybe 10lbs. I'm not worry at the moment, but definitely want to lose it eventually. I bought a belly binder, but it's too small greensad.gif I'm hoping to get out and start walking this week, I've been hibernating with babe so far lol

I gain 45 pounds like clockwork with each pregnancy. I have lost about 17 pounds of that so far at 2 weeks PP. It will take me about 8 months to lose all the weight, I suspect, but I really just want to fit in some nonmaternity pants. My birt hday is in a week, so I am hoping to use that as an excuse to buy some size 12 jeans until my plethora of 10s and 8s fit. Goodness, I miss pants that button and zip and don't sag off of my ass! smile.gif

I gained 45 lbs and I have 8 more to lose to be down to my pre pregnant weight. The twins are 6 weeks old tomorrow. I was overweight when I started, though, and it would be great if breastfeeding twins helped me lose a little extra... I haven't started exercising yet, since my c-section incision is still bugging me.

I started out about 80 lbs over my ideal body weight. I lost about 10 lbs overall while pregnant (not on purpose), up from a low of 22 lbs at my lowest in the second trimester. Now I am down 28lbs from pre pregnancy and easily fit my non maternity clothes although my belly is flabbier and squishier than before pregnancy. I'd love to try to lose another 30 lbs but am worried about being able to do that because I'm now completely starving all the time (rather than having no appetite as I did when I was pregnant). Last time I actually gained weight while nursing.

A lot of my PP swelling finally went down. I reweighed myself and am down 9lbs at 6 days PP.

Gained 20kg (44lbs) throughout my pregnancy, plus a lot of liquid retention from the hours laboring at the hospital. 9 days later, I've lost all the extra swelling and I'm at the halfway weight without really having done anything specific.

Pretty happy about it, though I suspect I'm only going to lose between nothing and 5 more kilos without doing anything specific. But I'm okay with that. I'll work on the rest once I feel well and we get breastfeeding down.

I've been using the belly binder on and off and it's definitely made a difference. The problem is that I'm very pear shaped, so it rides up and becomes uncomfortable. I also don't want to wear it whilst breastfeeding because I'm trying to do as much skin to skin as possible - so not getting all the benefits from it that I could.

It should be dropping off shortly.  Your baby/placenta is out but your milk is coming in.  I stagnated for a week or two, but now I am losing roughly a pound a day.

I ended pregnancy 42 pounds over my prepregnancy weight and at 3 weeks postpartum, I have lost 20 of those pounds.

I'm currently 178. I ended my pregnancy at 190. Started at 150. So I've got 28lbs to go.

I'm 9 days PP.

Yep, he was tied for one of the first September babies to be born in September - 9/6.  That'll make him 3 weeks tomorrow!  Time is flying, but nothing makes me feel that more than seeing photos of Silas, Otto & Memphis, and Lillian!

Violet is 5 1/2 weeks. She was born a week after Memphis & Otto. Crazy how fast time is going. I haven't weighed lately but my shirts are fitting better. Pants not so much. I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs so I think it will be a bit before my normal pants fit.
