I was talking with my 25 year old dd a few days ago, and for some reason I asked, "When you have kids, are you going to use cloth diapers?" "Absolutely!" was her reply.
Then we started to talk about how I used a diaper service with her and her siblings (and loved every minute of it.) There were so many options with my first two, but I had a hard time finding a service with my youngest child (born in 1999.) I did find one and used it happily. Most of my friends with small children wash their own, and nearly ALL of my older daughters' friends with children use throw away diapers.
Our service actually used different rinses if a child got diaper rash (and it worked well, even with a child with diarrhea rash from food allergies) and sizes from Pre-Term, Newborn, Regular and Large prefolds. Plus, in our second house, we have a private well (in our front yard) that has water so hard it was nearly impossible to do laundry even with a water softener, and because our water pressure is so low (house is almost 100 years old) that it takes more than an hour to do a regular laundry load. I would imagine my front loader would take 2-3 hours with the necessity of 2 or 3 rinses
So, does anyone still use a diaper service, if so, what it hard to find? How do you like it.
