Everyone says kids are starting puberty earlier and girls starting their periods younger because of the hormones in dairy products. I personally wonder if it's actually the meat products and all they are treated with. I am curious to know, for those who were either vegetarian/vegan growing up, or have veg/vegan kids who are at the age of puberty, if they are later than their peers or not?
My nearly 13 year old girl showed signs of puberty in 5th grade, has been wearing a small bra for about 2 years, but no period yet. By far most of her friends have had their periods for a year or more already.
My 9 year old girl is showing early signs and has been wearing deodorant since 3rd grade, starting to get peach fuzz in the pits. Both kids actually started to get body odor in 3rd grade now that I think of it.
Both of them have been vegetarian since they were in-utero. They do drink lots of cows milk and eat other dairy products and eggs.
