VBAC Homebirth

Does anyone know of any other midwives that will deliver a VBAC at home, besides Marie Wakefield? Does Dawn Wadleigh do them? I had a c-section 11 years ago this October with my first babies which were twins. Since then I have had 3 successful VBAC's. I am currently pregnant with our 6th child and would love to have a water birth at home! I have already meet with Marie and loved her! My only fear is the fact that she is a licensed midwife and not a board certified midwife. My friend that is an L and D nurse is creating a little of fear in me with the whole licensed versus board certified midwives. She said all the horror stories she's heard involved licensed midwives. I appreciate anyone's thoughts on the matter or experiences with either of these 2 midwives! Thanks!

That certainly is a big issue in the HB community (CPM/CNM).  I was comfortable with an experienced CPM for my second birth but not the first. It isn't for everyone though, that's for sure. I think the community is pretty divided on the issue, actually.  I suggest looking around and meeting some MWs. Ask your L&D friend if she has any feedback for the CPM you're considering. Also, look into ICAN - they may have some VBAC MW's for you too. Good luck!
