If your cycle is longer, does it change how far along you are?

I'm trying to avoid needless heartache.  I'm impatient to have an ultrasound, partly because of two mmc before, and partly because my doc mentioned suspecting twins based on my hcg levels lately.

But... I don't want to have one before 6 weeks.  On Thursday, I'll be 6 weeks according to the lmp calculations. But, I didn't O until day 15 or 16, not day 14. So I'm only 21-22 dpo today, but 'considered' 5w1d.

am I actually 5w1d today? I don't want to schedule the ultrasound too early and not see a heartbeat, but I want that ultrasound!

Yes, a long cycle changes how far along you are. Using LMP is based on a 28 day cycle. If you know when you ovulated, add two weeks to that and that's how far along you are.
