Ruheling, good. :)
Cynthiamoon, the way you tell how many points to any food, is that when you go there they give you this handy little book with points in it and then you end up memorizing for the common things you eat (for example eggs, cheese, oatmeal etc) the points are per serving. (for example 1/2 cup oatmeal is 4 points, 1 egg is 2 points, 1tbls sugar is 1 etc). They way its figured out is really really easy. Everything is pointed out. Also, you can buy a little points calculator (6-10$) , which you use to figure out the points of any processed food, canned food etc by looking at the nutritional information. Also, they have little books that you can buy which detail pretty much any food item you can eat when you go out. LIke, greek, italian, whatever. A lot of people think its like Jenny Craig, where you have to buy their food, but its not. Their food is available at the grocery stores but you can eat anything, however you cook and count points. I buy some of their stuff because its low in points but I stay away from most of it just because for example, Ive never eaten those ready made dinners and stuff. Other of my friends do though and they are quite happy with it. Also, fruits and veggies are zero points, which is really different from any calorie counting programs.
When you make a recipe, very often you'll be able to find it in one of their books where its already pointed out. Example: carrot cake, or cinnamon buns or whatever. But if not, then you point it out yourself. When you join, they also give you access to their smartphone app, which has all sorts of handy little tools.
Ive never been one of those people that has ever been rah rah rah! on commercial stuff like WW or into cheeseball cultish weird weight loss fads but I know weight watchers works because it did for me and it will again. I just take from it what I need and avoid the other stuff.
oh yeah, I was going to add, that in order to find out how many points you need in a day, its based on how much you weigh now and where you want to get to. Also, they are really healthy about it.
