backpacks kids love?

Thread Starter
My kindergartener has been complaining about her L.L. Bean backpack for years (throughout preschool). For whatever reason (she has many!), she doesn't like it. She would love a Disney princess backpack but I've told her no, we don't buy licensed character stuff. But she still wants a new backpack.

Any suggestions of where to find a backpack she and I are both likely to love? I'm not picky as long as it's easy for her to manage (no weird buckles/buttons), holds her stuff securely, and doesn't have licensed characters.

There are (or were, before the back to school section closed down) a lot of non-licensed character backpacks at Target. They had generic cute animals. My daughter had a puppy one last year that matched her lunch box.

Looks like they still sell them on-line, lots of cute animals to choose from

We have them from hanna anderson and Pottery barn and they are both functional and durable. Good prints.

Hi JudiAU! I just read your description of the preschool your kids are in on another post (sorry to hijack this thread). I'm also in LA and starting to look at preschools. What you described sounds great. If you are able to PM me, I'd love the name of the school. (I can't PM you). Thanks in advance!
