Baby Gear

Thread Starter

It's been four years since my last child was born, and I didn't buy much for him since I had 2 other children born a couple years before, so I've been out of the loop for a long time, and everything seems to have changed so much!

What are the best brands or what is everyone getting for:

Baby Carriers (I need a new SSC)

Cloth Diapers

Car Seat

Stroller (?)

I'm also thinking about belly binding, but have never done it before. Does anyone plan on doing it? What will you use?

TIA for any advice you may have for me. I'm also on a very limited budget so I'm looking for everything used, of course, so if you know of any companies that sell CD samplers or used CDs, that would help too.

For carriers, I'd recommend an Ergo. If you get an infant insert you can pretty much use it right away. (I got mine when my 3rd was 4 weeks old and have loved it with her)

CD - I swear by Applecheeks, Gro-via and Fuzzibunz

Carseat - if you're for sure baby wearing a lot, you could skip the infant baby 'bucket' and go straight to a convertible. My fave is the Radian.

Stroller - I'm not the best one to ask as I've been through SIX for my first 3 kids. I usually don't start putting them in the stroller til they can sit up (6 mths) so my recommendation would be a lightweight stroller like this Jeep one http://www.amazon.com/Jeep-Cherokee-Sport-Stroller-React/dp/B004HO5866

And YES I'm planning on doing more research on belly binding. Wish I'd known about it sooner. Pls share any info or links you find. I'm just now starting to research it.

For ab SSC we went with the boba. It can be used for newborns and toddlers alike, but I never used it when my DD was that young. I prefer a stretchy wrap or ring sling in the early days. We love baby wearing so much that we have several carriers, but no stroller. So, i can't recommend one. In terms of CD, my stash is primarily gro-via and they've worked well for us.
