Okay, really need for these next 2 days to be no spend because Friday and Saturday will be spending days.  My DD's bday is Friday, so we're gonna go out for dinner and Saturday is my normal grocery/gas day.

Yesterday's no spend was a well-deserved one.  I avoided the minimart with their pizza and candy, saying my mantra all the time: "500 calories, 500 calories, 500 calories".  Today, I need to make a special trip into town, so that automatically gets a bad mark.  DH has no more work scheduled for this week.  And so the season has begun.  Sigh.  I've put my ad on craigslist, though.  Flyers are next.  We are better set to skate through this season, and if we have to, there is a fair amount of savings from the rental, but I'd prefer to keep that earmarked for that house.

Lots of food buying.  I picked up more groceries for tonight's birthday dinner.  Made cupcakes to take to school and more cake for the family.  I also picked up 50 pounds of apples for winter use.  Oi!

While it seems like all I do is buy food, our food bills have been quite a bit lower than normal.  I know, I know, we used to spend waaaaaay too much money on food.  $493.99 left in the month's food budget.

Decided I'm gonna try to convince DD to get a pizza from Whole Foods for Friday's birthday dinner and then have tacos on Saturday when her friend is over (it will end up WAY cheaper that way--going out to eat is SO expensive with the kids!)  Tacos are her favorite and making them at home would be fun and cheap ;)  I'm gonna make muffins of her choice for breakfast on Sunday and get some fruit.  I've got popcorn I can make for them while they watch a movie we got from the library and I may or may not make a cake from scratch ;)  Thinking I may pick up a yummy chocolate bar to give to her friend a party favor of sorts and tie it with some pretty fabric.  Add some balloons from the Dollar Tree and that's a pretty cheap birthday! :)

10/16 - :loveeyes  I was good. I had some meal prep. issues and thought we might have to pick up fast food between lots of kids activities yesterday, but I made supper work. I also, unfortunately, broke the crock on my crock-pot so I'll need to replace that. I'll also need to change up the menu a little bit for the week. But for the day the only expense was my daughters religious education book, which I had planned for. In really good news we started getting reimbursed for some supplies we bought for a team my son is on, helping out the checking account. And I have a 1/2 day sub job today. It's not much income, but every little bit helps.

I was planning to cook, but we're having a stressful day here--it looks like DH may lose his job tomorrow--and I just couldn't face cooking tonight. Blah. Back on track tomorrow. Oh, and spent $198 on groceries, but I'm still well under-budget for the month, so no worries there.

I worked today. Though that is in itself somewhat frustrating. I subbed for a school district that only pays once a month. So the hours I worked today will be on a paycheck the end of November. In the meantime my unemployment check will be short for this week because of the hours I worked.

....good thing, too, because work is slow.  DH scheduled several more days for the month.  I put in another application.  I will say that while we haven't been able to build our savings (beyond the rental, which needs to remain for the house except for an emergency for now) we have been in the black for several months now.  I know, it's been high gardening season, but still, we both lost a client last year that paid us nearly 1/2 our income, so that's pretty good.

Oct 1 - :irked - DH Spent $30 for a music downloading program... :/

Oct 2- :D - Spent $30 on two apple trees though an amazing program in our city (they will be planted Dec 7th)! And $5 on open Gym.

Oct 3-  :D - Went out to dinner ($45) because my mom is in town, for now I'm going to call that budgeted, because we are doing great on groceries, If we go over our grocery budget at the end of the month well then.. We'll see when we get there. Also paid garbage bill and mortgage, waiting for those to clear.

Oct 4- :D Found great deal on compost and started a winter garden, cooked dinner for my extend family so we didn't need to eat out! 100$ on Groceries

Oct 5 - :irked My mom dragged me out to a bar... I made dinner for everyone, before but still felt like I should buy a drink. $4 for a beer! 0.0 I took it out of our grocery envelope and I'll try to save enough to make up for the $10 I spent total.

Oct 6- :D Ate out again, but it was cheep enough to come out of the food budget. My tummy wasn't happy though... Hoping Wednesday (the day my mom leaves!) is no spend!

Oct 7 - :D

Oct 8 - :D

Oct 9 -:irked Unbudgeted, but very necessary doctor visit. Found out my insurance doesn't cover ND's so now I have $300+ dollars to pay off with them. Payed $100 today....

Oct - 10 :D Even though we are trying not to eat out I'm going to call this pizza splurge budgeted... Found out a friend passed away and really didn't feel like cooking. We are doing really good with our food budget so we had room to spurge on good pizza on a rough night.

Oct 11 - :D  Today is good so far, don't forsee any unbugeted spending!

Oct 12 - :irked Unbudgeted spending had an impromptu event and got fast food...

Oct 13- :D Gas, and used part of our small entertainment budget to go to a second run movie theater. Nice day.

Oct 14- :thumb - WOOT WOOT! No spend!!

Oct 15 - :D

Oct 16 - :irked -DH ordered a record on line.... I guess he pre-ordered it a while ago and forgot...

Oct 17 :D - Technically budgeted, but I spent WAY too much on groceries, and its going to hurt next week.  If we can stretch it It'll be fine, we did stock up on pastured hot dogs that were on sale, so that was a big chunk of the price. But I also bought beer.... and DH bought Soda....
