October Chat Thread
Does anybody know when they typically move you to every week? I can't remember. It sure would be awesome if they don't do that until 40 weeks, but I doubt it.
Yeah, I'm on bi-weekly appointments as of this week too, and I will have three this month plus two ultrasounds plus my Rhogam and GTT, but they do them at the same time, thank goodness. That's six in one month, lol!
I believe bi-weekly appointments start at 34 weeks...
Weekly appointments at 34 weeks? Eeek, I hope it's not that early. That would mean every week in November and December for me. I'm kind of wishing that I had asked them to put off the bi-weekly appointments a little longer, but I was kind of overwhelmed at my last appointment because I did the glucose test and the 4D ultrasound, plus my husband was taking our son to his regular muscular dystrophy appointment at the same time, so all I was thinking was a) I need to get some food! and b) I hope my DH gets back here in time for the ultrasound!
I'm hoping I don't have to do every week until at least December. And I was kind of thinking I'd try to weasel out of the 38 week appointment on account of it being the day before Thanksgiving. I'm just not a huge fan of driving across town every week or two just so my doctor can tell me everything is fine. :P
I saw my family doctor at 14 weeks and again today at 28 weeks. Baby growing perfectly and all looks good! After not gaining weight forever, I've definitely caught up! She ordered some bloodwork for me- RH antibody screen b/c I'm negative, a CBC to check my iron, D and Carnitine level checks. I have my placenta check up on Friday morning, to make sure it's moved up a bit. So if all of those results are good, then I won't see my doctor again; I'll just check in with my midwife friend for growth and position at 36 and 38ish weeks.
Oh! It was fun, at the appt. I felt hiccups for the first time! (and knew he was breech b/c of where the hiccups were)
I feel like I still have a looooooooooong way to go. I am excited for November, when it's close enough to set up the baby's things and start making physical space for him in our home!
Anyway, going in for my 30 week appointment today. I get another 4D ultrasound since Roisin wouldn't show her face on the first one. Yay! :-D
I think the weekly appointments start at 36 weeks. This is probably weird but I actually like going to my (current) doctor. She's been so nice and her practice is around the corner from ours. And I'm always excited to get a peek at/hear the baby. Regular midwife visits start two weeks from now.
My "official" due date is now Nov. 30. That's less than two months! And next week is my last week of work
Jenny, I "almost" miss the hiccups this time around. DD was hiccuping the entire time which I found mostly cute but with this LO, I think I've felt them once.
Michelle, consider yourself lucky. I start weekly appointments this week with my twins. I will be 29 weeks tomorrow. Driving 35 minutes for weight, blood pressure, urine check, belly measurement, and heart beat check only to hear "everything is fine" seems redundant. Now with gestational diabetes I have my "diabetic training" on Monday Oct. 7 and then a followup on Oct. 18 to make sure I have my supplies and things are going well.
It is so hard to believe it is Oct. already! I had posted in the Sept. thread and then I was like, wait a minute, it is a new month!
I've only had one appointment with my mw at 23 weeks. I had one scheduled for yesterday (27 weeks) but DD woke up with pink eye so we rescheduled it for next week...NBD. My mw is about 40 minutes away but its a beautiful drive so I don't mind right now. Going every week in December might get old though.
