Ash, Girl Scouts is okay. I'm still feeling it out... it's not run terribly well. They've got decent ideas and they seem pretty organized, but pulling it off so the girls are engaged and actually learning is another story. Since I don't have the time or energy to run it myself or to get more involved, I can't really complain and Avalon says she loves it so that's what I'm going off of for now. Plus, it's a social connection thing for me, too. Many of the moms are also in the PTA and run other events that we're a part of. So, I figure I should mix it up and see if I can make some more friends. I've stayed at the last two meetings and talked with other moms. They're definitely quite different from me, so that's a challenge. Two of them live in my neighborhood and I asked if they wanted to join my listserv. One did right away and the other I asked tonight and she scrunched up her face and said, "not really." What's with that? Um, no, I don't really want to get to know my neighbors- even now that I know you're one of them. Nice.
Kirsten, sorry you're having a hard time. We're here for you if you want to talk!
