Dude, it didn't tell me you sent a snap.

I'm totally going to sew after I put the kids to bed and poly the floor one more time.

I'm glad therapy went well, Mal.

I hope some of you get bored and decide to text me sometime. =D Since Jaimee the badass sent out that email.

Have fun sewing you two. Not something I know how to do.

Not much, I am tired and Eli is on a mission... the weather was nice, clear skies and then the fog rolled in (since we are so close to the ocean this happens a lot in the autumn) so now it is cold.  My toes are going to fall off, time to close the door and turn on the heat...

Eli keeps driving his cars onto the keyboard of the desktop computer... *sigh*

I would love some chocolate lol... maybe we should go for a walk to get some :D

I just had the realization that I have never used a pattern in all my years of sewing, and its like reading in a foreign language.  My night might be a bust.

How is the floor going Sara?

I love nights when DH is home. He is my go-to person for toddler bedtime these days. He sits in Sora's bed with her and reads for a good half hour at least. Makes me so happy he's into reading with her now. I was kinda shocked this week when I did his routine and discovered how much she knows from her books. Almost scary. Lol.

Talked with my sister in Cali tonight and turns out she and her DH have a vacation with friends scheduled for May. Down in Mexico. They were thinking they'd bring a nanny along, but now we're in talks that maybe DH, I, and Sora would go along and we'd watch my nephew while getting a nearly free extravagant vacay out of it or we'd just stay in their house in Cali and take care of him. I'm not sure how it would go if he has separation anxiety, plus we'd be strangers to him, but in theory it sounds pretty cool.

Ash, you can do it!!! Lol. I've never sewn from a patten either. My kids are 3 down, one to go. Then floor, then training pants.

Sonja, chocolate sounds great! I've been to the store 3 times and keep forgetting chocolate!

Joanie, holy fun. I know which way I would vote!

Floor painted. Finally. Now I'm thinking I don't want to sew tonight. I have to teach my new phone the word sew. It keeps autocorrecting to see. Grrr.

Random night out thanks to DH. I promise it won't be a repeat of last week though, LOL.

Final pics?

I'm missing a page of my downloaded pattern and 2 men are in the kitchen trying to figure it out while i put B down. Hopefully they don't try to actually sew...

Cross posted, lucky Nicole!

A friend just read this aloud to me, and it really struck a chord with me right now.

http://www.elephantjournal.com/2011/06/why-being-broken-in-a-pile-on-your-bedroom-floor-is-a-good-idea-julie-jc-peters/

"But look, Akhilanda says, now you get to make a choice. In pieces, in a pile on the floor, with no idea how to go forward, your expectations of the future are meaningless. Your stories about the past do not apply. You are in flux, you are changing, you are flowing in a new way, and this is an incredibly powerful opportunity to become new again: to choose how you want to put yourself back together. Confusion can be an incredible teacher—how could you ever learn if you already had it all figured out?"

That is a really powerful idea, yk being able to look at it as an opportunity to start new... Hard as it may be... *hugs*
post #1539 of 2728
Very powerful. Sonja is spot on.

Kirsten I hope those words are able to help you move forward a bit.
