Wow! How is it October already?? Here is the new chat thread, a few of the last thread's posts to get us started:
Katie, how exciting that Alice is rolling! Sander has done it a few times but nothing consistent at all yet. Honestly, I think he's just content to play on his back and hates being on his tummy, so why roll over? lol. He scoots himself around on his back pretty well though, and he's really wanting to sit up right now, and also wanting to stand and bear weight on his legs. He gets a bit kick out of that!
Let's see, what's new around here? Sander had his 4 month vaccinations yesterday (although he's 5 months, there's a big back-up right now at public health clinics due to an apparent baby boom. I was able to get in due to a cancellation otherwise I'd be booked into DECEMBER if you can believe it!! He'd be 8 months by the time he got his 4 month vaccinations!) He's continuing to grow right on the same curve. He's just under 97th percentile for length, and about 90th for weight so around the 50th percentile weight for length. He's 19lbs 5 oz. At the same age DS1 was 15lbs 7oz, so that's quite a difference! We have all had a cold for 3 weeks, but I think we're all almost over that, thankfully. Actually, I have a suspicion it's been a series of colds brought home by DS1 from preschool!! I'm hoping that once the boys are both healthy sleep will go back to a better state of normal. DS1 has been waking up at 6 every morning and is up at least twice before that through the night. Not a big deal as he often just needs to be tucked back in or maybe get a 5 min cuddle, but he's waking Sander up every time he comes in our room! That's annoying. Anyway, hopefully we'll be back to normal soon.
Fall is definetely in the air here, we've even had a few flakes of the white stuff. I was hoping for a warm fall since we had a late spring/summer, but it seems that is not meant to be. I went and got Sander a snow suit, mitts, and touque today so he's pretty geared up. I need to get some larger boots for him as DS1's hand me downs just fit him now and will be to small in a few weeks. I also need DH to get down the next box of baby clothes (the 12-18month size if you can believe it!) because Sander is getting too big for the 12 month stuff. I have a feeling I'll have to buy some baby clothes that will fit him through winter because most of DS's 12-18 month size stuff is spring/summer. I was hoping to rely on hand-me-downs, we'll see. I'm sure there will be a few pairs of long pants and maybe some hoodies that Sander can wear over short sleeved onsies or something.
How is everyone else doing? Ready for fall/winter? And how about Halloween plans? Anyone have cool costumes planned? DS1 wants to be a skeleton, so I just went and got some GAP skeleton jammies and DH will paint his face. I decided to just get Sander a matching pair so both boys will be dressed as the same thing. Although I wasn't really thinking as really, all costumes should be able to fit over a snow suite here and those jammies most certainly will not. So I guess we may have to trick or treat at the mall this year!
Also, I'm thinking about those of you who may be affected by the government shut down in the US. PBM, I hope you guys are not affected. I am not sure who else might be, but I hope you guys are ok financially and that the shut down is short lived (for everyone's sake!).
