Lact-aid cleaning question

Has anyone ever tried cleaning the Lact-aid parts in a Medela steam bag with a happy ending? I was just thinking the steam would be a good and quick way to loosen up any accumulating gunk, but I wasn't sure if it would withstand the heat like other things would.

I use peroxide to get the gunk out.

Thanks for the tip! I e-mailed the company and it was an emphatic no. Too bad, those steam bags are handy...

I had some clogging recently and found tips on an adoption board. Basically, repeated soaking and rinsing in boiling water + using the bulb as light suction on a clog is what worked.

Also, my problem was that I was getting lazy and rinsing them with the bulb before taking them apart, which was sometimes forcing drying formula into the skinny tube and clogging it. I've also made a promise to myself I rinse them ASAP and not hours later when I get around to it.

BTW-- what soap do you use?

We just use our almost-natural dish soap from Costco, which we water down a bit anyway. I have been meaning to do the soak in vinegar solution like they recommend, but I still haven't gotten around to it...
