I'm having a hard time not being annoyed about it... there has been no consideration for my family, we are supposed to just keep the 23rd tothe 26th clear, just on the chance that they might come down. My family is pretty laid back, my sister is having an open house on Christmas day starting at noon, and asked that we bring some finger food if we go. It would be very nice to be able to say YES we will be there, or NO and make a plan to see them another day.
A hundred less on groceries is great! I think we spend close to $200/week on groceries, it's crazy how much the big kids eat now. Roland eats MORE than an adult because the teenage-boy appetite has kicked in and Caitlin eats about 2/3 what an adult does.
Sometimes when the messes are getting out of control it's time for a toy cull, Ive found. Especially this time of year, when you know there's going to be an influx. I put Stephanie's toys on a rotation so there aren't as many things with tons of pieces to scatter everywhere. Right now she's got her duple and a shapes sorter, but her little people and wooden blocks are put away. I will switch them someday when she seems bored. That's awesmethat your 6 year old is giving a helping hand, and it will make the move easier on him if he's excited about it.
We might be moving soon, too! Yesterday Andrew as home between charters and we went to drop off an application to a co-op house. The woman in the office said a bunch of applicants don't have the income to be able to afford the place, so there's only been one other serious applicant so far. He was looking for a 3 bedroom but would accept a 4 bedroom... we need a 4 bedroom (the girls can share a room if necessary, but they are 8 years apart in age so it's not ideal) I think we have a good shot at getting it... they need to find someone by the end of December, but I doubt they'll want to be interviewing during the holidays. I'm hoping that means we have an answer BEFORE Chirstmas, ha ha!
All I've done today put the garbage and recycle int he lane for pick-up. I've got a laundry mountain to deal with because I got frustrated with the leak in the tub yesterday and blew off the folding. The hall light that the slumlords fixed a few weeks ago isnt working again...we have to get out of here!
