Oddly I'm less hungry this time while nursing than I was during my other nursing relationships. I HAVE to eat breakfast right when I get up, but that's the only time I'm overtaken by hunger. Lou isn't even eating that much in the way of solid food and def not every day, so who knows. Any other mamas of 1+ who are less hungry this time around? I more have to remind myself to snack/eat because I'll start to feel shaky or get a headache. I was the hungriest with my first (literally had to eat all day, so I've been there) and made sure to keep snacks around that actually filled up my belly. Almonds, hummus, baked tofu, etc.
YES!!!! and my weight is lower too. but i was worried about my supply dropping. i eat veggies, protein, and sometimes nuts most every day, but it's like down to 2 smaller meals. i got off caffeine and sugar until this morning (wedding cake practice, and this one was a gluten-free pumpkin spice cake, which begged for a nice cup of coffee w/ it!) but that has helped.
squash everything. spinach everything. i'll even just roast up a bunch of squash and pan-fry rounds of butternut squash w/ sauteed spinach for a meal.
roast chicken makes me happy. i'm off most starches, so i had roasted root veggies last night (beets, potatoes, parsnips, onions, garlic and carrots) but ate a minimum b/c i don't feel great the next morning even after healthful foods like that. i'm not wanting meat much either, but find i love my bone stock soups- w/ spinach and a scrambled egg (we do go through 4 dozen eggs a week sometimes, but since i also make pancakes every morning w/ eggs, and bake cakes for everyone in the world, i try not to panic), that's been my go-to.
i haven't been exercising much, cooking a TON. but i find that if i cook all day, i'm also not that hungry. ??? i might be unique in this. but i don't snack when i cook, i don't sample my foods, i just cook. and i don't eat the kids leftovers or actually eat anything snacky. i sit down to my 2 meals, and sometimes a treat (which might be a meal if i make a cake which is pumpkin, quinoa, almonds, eggs and coconut, or else lemon zest, quinoa, almonds, eggs and coconut). but i'm working hard to eat enough. i bought myself bananas (i never eat bananas) to make smoothies to keep my food intake up. i did this before w/ my 4th pregnancy.
anxious lately. maybe hormones. very overwhelmed and trying to just not frazzle out or nag my husband to death every day. here's hoping that passes soon!
