I thought it might be interesting to share some of what we've been reading lately, just for fun.
Books: I just finished a trilogy written by Hugh Howie. the books are Wool, Shift, and Dust. It's a story set in the post-apocolypse where people are bunkered down in 'silos' under the ground. At some point in the future the plan is for them to be let back out in the world. I found the books to be very interesting, the characters have a lot of depth and the story line wasn't too predictable. I'm waiting a week or two before I start a new book because I think I'm going to be disappointed by whatever I read next, ha ha!
Blogs: I sometimes read Strocel this is a woman whom I met at LLL and I find her writing to be 'real' and she captures the essence of motherhood very well. She lets her imperfections show and she is always working on something or another. Another blog that pops up sometimes is Matt Walsh, his wife is a SAHP and he seems to be a very supportive and involved husband and father. He's not afraid to say what's on his mind.
Recipes: Okay, this one feels silly. Like maybe it should be a different thread. But whatever... recently I made Cheesy Ranch Potatoes which I didn't 100% follow the recipe because I don't know what the heck scallions are and I forgot the dill weed. My 11 year old inhaled them... I'm quite sure he would have eaten the whole pan if we hadn't selfishly chosen to eat our own portions.
