My trusty little sedan just kicked the bucket so it's time to go car shopping. We have 2 kids right now, but are planning to try and get pregnant for a 3rd in about a year. Our budget is pretty small, we've been looking at vehicles that are about 10 years old.
We tested a couple minivans this morning, and discovered that I am too short to comfortably drive one that does not have a height adjustment for the drivers seat, which means we might have to shell out more $$ than is optimal right now. Neither of us of are thrilled with the idea of owning a van quite yet. We'll probably have to get one eventually (when we have more $), as a 4th child is also likely, but we hate driving large vehicles and paying so much for gas etc. So now we're considering trying to find something more car-like that is wide enough for 3 kids in the back.
My kids are 1 and 4, and both ride in TrueFit seats, 4 yo is forward facing. I'm not sure how much room the 4yo has before he outgrows the Truefit, I just measured and he is about 41" tall. What's the next step after FF in a convertible? High-back booster? Are those slimmer than convertible carseats?
