What are you knitting/crocheting? And share pics? - Page 2

I used the Picky Pants Pattern from Little Turtle Knits.  I highly recommend it.  It's very well written, has tons of options, and is formatted in such a way that makes it easy to knit the different sizes, without having to go to town with a highlighter all over the pages.

I want to learn to knit, maybe this winter. I've said that the past three winters though....

I can't post pics mobile, but I am in the throes of crocheting Carlito pattern hats for the nieces and nephews for Christmas. Most need to be finished before Thanksgiving when I'll see that side of the family....

in September i knitted some more hats ...

there's a stall holder in my local market who sells these variegated acrylic balls for one euro fifty per ball, i just cannot resist these colors & "had" to knit one of each !

last spring i experimented making hats in both crochet and knitting needles with the same wool

to see how different it would turn out ...

The difference in knit vs crochet is very interesting!

yes, i like to crochet ... but i found i prefer the look of a knitted hat with these variegated materials ....( i didn't crochet any in September, all knitted)

I just started these socks. The yarn is a cotton silk blend that shimmers - the photo doesn't really do it justice. I really posted this just to prove to myself that I could figure out how to post a picture from my Iphone in my post - never tried it before. I must admit, I am rather proud of myself! About the photo bit, more than the socks, I mean. I taught myself to knit last summer, and have never made anything but socks. I just love the different yarns available, wearing fabulous socks, and the calming process of knitting. I wear sandals year 'round, and in winter I love showing off my hand knit socks. Yes, I know this is a major fashion faux pas - my teenage children mock me mercilessly - I flaunt it rebelliously!

not sure about the major fashion faux pas ... it very much depends on where you live really ....

am very impressed because i've never knitted myself any socks !!!! ... & it's totally my style of colors too ...

Those would have gone over well with all my chicken buddies.  Cute!  Is it from a pattern?  I'd love it.

It is! I don't have the link right now (we just moved and don't have Internet yet), but if you search chicken pot holder on Ravelry you will find it. The pattern isn't on Ravelry, but look at the comments for the potholder and someone links where you can buy it. It was less than $10 for a whole little book from the 80's of novelty pot holders. It's cute! I will come back and link it when we have Internet if you haven't found it.

I'm still working on hats. The ones for the boys need button embellishments sewn on. Then I need to make 2 little girl ones and sew the ribbon on. And pay my 12 yr old sil for making the flowers on clips for me. Then I'll take pics. They look boring right now. I won't get to post for a while, I can almost guarantee. Thanksgiving, Christmas pics, ordering cards and gifts, mailing everything, family, oy vey!

this thread is making me want to get back into it. I would love to do a blanket for a friend having her rainbow baby...love that idea

I've just started on a set of Christmas baubles. We got a new Christmas tree last year and I was disappointed that I never managed to make home-made decorations for it. Trying to fix that before this year, we'll see how many get done.

So far I've finished two and started on a third.

found 3 more hats i knitted in September

now, it's turned rather cold where i am .... yet, none of my children want to wear a hat to go to school !!!

with those on the left of the picture, i experimented cutting out water bottle twist caps so as to have a hollow piece & wrapped some wool around it ... i thought that DS would wear the green one if it didn't have a pompom ...

also made another smaller bag with left over cotton ...
