One of our 22 month olds (twins) is waking too early, around 5 am everyday. With a 7 pm bedtime this gives her 10 hours of sleep. 11 is the recommended amount at this age. (As her Mama, I know she hasn't had enough sleep because she's waking up crying and cranky.) The girls take 1 two-hour nap mid-day.
She wants to fall back asleep after an hour of being up, around 6, just in time for her sister to wake. We've tried blackout shades, white noise, heavier pjs, lighter pjs, rocking, food (she refuses), offering a pre-bedtime snack to up her caloric intake...all to no avail.
Has anyone else experienced this? What helped your little one?
