...gone tomorrow.

Goodbye pregnant princess hair, I shall miss you. I'm losing so much hair I'm considering making a pet with it.

Anyone else?

I was wondering when a thread like this would pop up. I'm sooo happy I have dreads, Noticed the roots are coming in thinner from when I was pregnant though =/. No more phatties for me

Not yet. I have quite the mane! I've heard it drops either right after birth or after you stop nursing. Is that what happened to you guys? Or did it just start?

Mine has been falling out since about 4-6 weeks pp if I remember correctly.

It's always started between 8 and 12 weeks pp for me, which is the normal time from what I've read.

I have thin hair so this is always disturbing for me. I need all the hair I have! This time is much, much worse. I'm actually getting bald spots. I'm kind of freaking out.

It has always started at exactly 12 weeks for me- and the two that were born with hair lost it then too. We all just shed hairs all over the place. Rowan had no hair to start with so it's not an issue for his sweet head.
My hairline looks like my dad's. I'm rockin the receded temples look. Sizzling hot.

Wren moon- yes!! I've got that too! And my hair is so thin that you an see my scalp through it. I'd love to just embrace it and go bald but I'm scared it'll turn out that I have a funky shaped head! Lol

I started losing lots of hair at about 12 weeks pp too. I think Im only noticing it though because i didn't seem to lose much while pregnant.

mine started coming out around three months.  it was pretty thick before that, so it's not an aesthetic issue, but I have started trying to wrangle it in the shower so it doesn't end up in the drain!  after standing in yuck-water a few times, it finally dawned on me that I probably shouldn't just throw clumps of hair on the floor in there.

and far be it from me to tell another woman what to do with her hair, Kalista, but if you've ever wanted to go bald, I say go for it!  I hemmed and hawed about it, and a few years ago I finally told my husband to shave it off.  I wouldn't recommend the Bic-ed down to the scalp approach, though, because my head felt like sandpaper afterward.  I worried that my head would be weird too, but it turns out it was just a head under there.  I actually shaved it on Halloween, too, so I was pretty cold through the winter.  always wore a hat, that's for sure.  but I figured that if I DID have a wacky head, I could wear a hat without drawing too much attention to myself during the winter.  all in all, it was a great experiment, and it was actually pretty reassuring.  pretty much no one cared that my hair was gone (or if they did, I never noticed), and I felt totally comfortable after a few weeks.  just more evidence that we worry far more about our own appearances than anyone else does.

whoops, double post.

I am losing a lot of hair too. I think it started around 12 weeks as it has been going on a month now. I want it gone! I hate my long thick pregnancy hair but I wont get it cut until the hair loss slows so I dont have a wonky haircut. When does this slow down? I got my hair cut too early last time.

Sounds like what I heard was way off! Damn. That probably means I'm about to start losing since she is almost 3mo

12 weeks pp today, and ready for some hair loss! I thought it was supposed to happen earlier. Glad to know there's still a chance I'll lose some of this craziness. I have really thick, curly hair to begin with, so this mop on my head is just ridiculous. I also have short hair, so I have not been able to get it to lie down for almost a year. I guess I'll probably miss it for its warmth. Maybe instead of pets we can all knit or felt hats out of our hair?

Yeah, my hair loss is increasing yet again. My hair is thin already and now I'm getting 2-3 handfuls every time I wash it! Yuck.

You called it. At almost 4mo pp, I am shedding. Here's some hair art I made for you, inspired by 1970s feminist body art.

I love it, cynthiamoon!

I'm still waiting for mine to fall out. I need a haircut badly but I keep waiting to see if it will thin itself first....
