any advice or experience for a stop start labor?

I'm 40 weeks today with my second, and ive had two false alarms in the past couple of weeks and lots of on and off contractions. Starting friday I have had this pattern where I wake up in the am, start contracting, and through the coarse of the day they get more steady and more intense. I go to bed thinking I better get some sleep because this might be it. Then I end up sleeping most of the night with only a few contractions waking me. This has been happening for 3 days and nights... Each day the contractions are more intense, in fact, yesterday they hurt and I was having trouble walking and talking through them. My midwife says my cervix is very ready and the baby just needs to come down a bit more for things to take off. Every day I wake up and spend my day trying to balance living my life and doing things to help this baby drop. Im spending as much time as i can sitting on my ball instead of the couch, im doing some spinning babies positioning techniques and im walking. Dh and I have also dtd every day... I realize that babies come when they are ready and i don't intend on doing anything invasive to force labor, but jee wiz!! My baby hangs out in a good ROA position sometimes flipping to the left so its not an OP baby. Advice/ experience/ encouragement please?!

That happened to me with both my pregnancies. I took calcium/magnesium supplements and that calmed things down. It's so frustrating!

The wait at the end is so hard. Good luck to you!
