Let's try this!! Calculating due date based on first real kicks. - Page 2

I feel like when I have the first 'real' kick, I know it. It goes from fluttery, vague movement sensations that could be gas to "Oh! That was a kick!"

Let's hope most of us get that "Oh! That was a kick" feeling that you get weliveintheforest.  That would be awesome!

kicks are cute until they are kicking your ribcage at 4 a.m. :bgbounce

I am due April 28 (but always go late) and I felt my first kicks this weekend or late last week..so, say, November 16th?

This just wont' work for me no matter how I slice it :D
This is my 4-th baby, I'm thin - and have been feeling flutters and "pop-corn" since around 11wks - I suppose I felt my first "real" kick on 11/28/13  just before 12wks but my cycle "due" date is 5/13/14.   I know pretty darn well when implantation took place. (within a week at most)

Now I know "THEY" say you won't feel movement until 13-18wks.  but I know without a doubt where and what i'm feeling (done this 3 times before :lol )

But by this method my date would be 3/28/14 (33w+3d)  NOOOOO WAYYYY this is accurate for me!  Though I wonder if it would be more accurate for first time moms???

Perhaps we should keep posted when we feel a REALLY big kick between weeks 17-22 weeks as MrsGail suggests. :)  you can keep me off the chart before then.  Oh and you might add a not of whether the due date is by ultrasound (most accurate) or by cycle dates.

you could always go from first kick that could be felt from the outside, for me that is usually around 16ish weeks

Are any of you late-April, early -May mama's feeling any movement that could definitely be described as real kicks? Add your info for the list! I can't wait to feel something myself!! Going on 16wks with my first baby...hoping to feel something around Christmas!

DH felt a real kick last week he says, but I didn't so I'm holding off until I feel it.  I'm due mid may :) I'm curious to see how this dating method works as well.  My first baby the dates were right on.  Second baby we had three different ultrasounds trying to figure it out and just got so confused.  This baby I havn't had any ultrasounds yet or been measured officially so the due date is just set by the dates I gave the midwife, like the first baby, so  will this method will give me the same date or not :).

I felt my first kicks 11/18/13 and my EDD is 05/16/14.

This is a cool idea :)

Okay. Felt first real kicks today! My EDD is May 5th. Based on 5 months count, the date would be April 26th.

Now I've felt flutters and movement before this. But I'm feeling actual consistent kicks as of today. This is my 3rd baby smile.gif

List is updated to here.  Any more babies kicking??

I've been feeling a lot of movement lately, but last night I felt a very clear kick with my hand, so I will count that as my first real kick.  The baby is really active when I first wake up in the morning and when I lay down in the evenings, or when I have pressure on my belly.

First kick: 12/2/2013

EDD: 5/8/2013

First kick EDD: 4/30/2013  ( I just slid my computer calendar forward 5 months unless there's another way to do it?)

That date actually sounds about right for me.  My first was one week before EDD and the second one was two weeks before EDD, so an April baby would not shock me.

Dec 2 my first real kick!!!!! :) my other EDD is May 15, so where does that put my new EDD? or is it the same?

5 months from now is May 2.  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Heldt123--according to what I read in the Bradley book, it sounded like you should just use the same date as the kick, but advance it 5 months.  So if you felt a kick on Dec. 2, your kick due date would be May 2.

Fayebond--that moves your due date up a bit!  How exciting (although I wouldn't get my hopes up!)

I started feeling movement this week (at 16wks2days), but only a light tapping sensation.  Hoping for a real kick in the next 2-3 weeks or so.

Healthy_baby suggested adding more details to the chart, such as how you're calculating your due date (LMP, O, ultrasound).  If you would like to add this information (or any other info you feel is relevant), just add it below and I'll update it.  I think it would be also interesting to note whether we go into labor naturally or get induced--as that would definitely mess with the accuracy of this thing.

By the way, I can't get rid of that extra little table below the main table--no matter what I do, it won't delete.  I've tried cutting it, and everything I can think of...so I guess it will just hang out. :)

Kick babies kick! (but not you late-May babies...yet) :)

But then February is 28 days, 2-3 days short of a month.  :p

I calculated my EDD based on LMP.  Which was wildly unreliable last time.  We didn't do an ultrasound or anything else because I'm trying to mentally take it easy this round.  Our second baby we worried, stressed, and worked our tails off to get an "accurate" due date, only for her to show up 6 days "late" ( but wieghing 8lbs and clearly not late).  I'm honestly telling people "May" or if they push, May 23, because I don't want to hear about it when I'm close.  It was really frusterating to be reminded so much with the last one.  This baby they can all just be, oh, she's early, or or, she's late, and I can be all, "oh, isn't she cute" (or he, you get the idea ;).

For me, LMP and ovulation due date are one day apart, so no significant difference.

any more babies kicking?    Mind is definitely tapping, but nothing that seems to be a definite kick yet. 18wks tomorrow. For you mamas that felt very early kicks--are you still confident those early movements were true kicks?  Let me know if you want any info changed on the list.

mine was probably 12/1
