Yes, probably in February. If I coordinate, I'm tempted to make it my birthday (Feb. 12) just so I can get lots of packages sent to me then wink1.gif I'm not in any way ready to officially step up and set dates just yet though. We can probably start a sign up thread some time in early- to mid-December with that deadline being mid-January.

Yes. Just so we can get us all through the first trimester safely, THEN get the ladies to sign up. Sounds good!

I want in the bead swap too!

I admit it. I'm really excited that I'm having an u/s this afternoon. I think I'll tell my parents via Facetime in Australia once we hopefully see one living baby in there. My 7 yr old is hoping for triplets. Oh help me if we are.

How exciting, @amyrobynne! I had mine last Wednesday and was extremely excited, too, especially when I finally got to see that beautiful heartbeat.

Last time I was pregnant, my 5yo had been praying for twins for a whole year before I got pregnant! I hope whoever you have in there is nice and healthy smile.gif

This bead swap sounds like such a great idea! I saw the post a couple of weeks ago, then disappeared from the forums because I was traveling for work...but I love the idea! Now let's just hope I don't miss the deadline :)

I'm excited for my ultrasound. It's on the 26th. :love I've never had to wait this long for an ultrasound or appt. It's always been around 7 or 8 weeks.

My blood tests are back, and I'm looking good, except my dhea levels and vitamin d levels are low. And naturally I get sick every time I take a vitamin d pill, so I'm not sure how to deal with that. I just read that in the winter there's no vitamin d from the sun where I live. Perhaps it's time to embrace eating fish?

Oranges(and their juice) have vitamin D. I actually found that the acidity of the orange curbed my nausea. It was like both the acids cancelled each other out. :lol

One of the best ways to get Vit D is fermented cod liver oil (you can get the capsules)

I had my second appt last night and got to hear the heartbeat 160bpm. It def made it all feel so real. Almost 12 weeks and I'm telling my boss in an hour.

:joy

My kids take fermented cod liver oil and butter oil for remineralizing teeth, and they also take an additional vitamin d drop. One single drop is 2,000 iu. Most people are deficient in vitamin d, regardless of sun exposure. There is research that shows sun is not as great a source of d as we'd like it to be. That there was very little change to levels when tested before and after.

I used to do fermented cod liver oil, but I stopped taking it a while ago. Maybe I should try it again since my system seemed to like it better than the vit. d pills.

11 weeks today! :bgbounce It's so crazy, how quickly it's going.

First appointment with midwife is today! I am so excited--can't stop watching the clock. Hoping we will hear the heartbeat. fingersx.gif

Water Mama - hope today went well for you!

10 weeks today! :) YIppeee! It's crazy we've made it this long with our little secret. I called my midwife today and left her a message asking for a call back. I'm so excited to get to tell her and pick a date for next month to try and hear this little one's heartbeat! Being that the weekend is a popular time to have babies I'm not expecting a call back until next week, so anxiously awaiting!! :)

I'm also super excited be cause two of my sister-in-laws are due soon. The first next Friday and the other on December 9th! There'll be new little ones to snuggle by Christmas which is so fun, especially as I'm dreaming about this little one!

Happy Thanksgiving week!

My appointment on Friday went really well. We decided to do a quick abdominal ultrasound to make sure there is a baby. I have been really concerned about the possibility of miscarriage, so seeing the little peanut moving and watching the heart beating so strongly was very comforting. For some reason, though, it still hasn't completely set in that I am going to have another baby. DH is very excited. Maybe when I really start to show and feel the baby move it will seem more real? Or maybe when I know the sex?

Have you been able to feel your uterus yet? I felt mine, really defined for the first time this morning. That's kind of what I needed to confirm to myself. :)

I think for some moms, the baby having an identity(knowing the sex and picking out a name) is what solidifies it.

Becky, I think you are right. Finding out the sex will definitely help give the baby an identity. With my son, I was certain he was a girl until we found out otherwise. Maybe that is why I am instinctively holding off the attachment with this second pregnancy. Can't wait to feel the movement too :)

The place where I teach is training a new sonographer, so I offered to be a model for her so I could get a sneak peak at how things are going. One baby, in its proper place, strong heartbeat, dates right on. Such a huge relief. :joy
