Finally some progress; 157.4!

I was moving last week and forgot to post. 193. No food or exercises changes, but the lack of sleep, didn't help. I'll weigh in tomorrow for this week's weight. Dealing with unpacking boxes and my son is having a tough time with the changes.

William Ernest arrived at 4:13 pm Sat. Dec 21 at 7 pounds 10 oz. Edward Ronald arrived in breech presentation at 4:15 pm Dec 21 at 6 pounds 2 oz. I did pitocin induction from 7:30 am Friday Dec 20 because both boys were head down then until 2:30 pm Sat Dec 21 where even though water was broken for first baby, I never prrogressed past 5 cm. Had spinal and c section.

Stayed in hospital until Dec 25 because of low blood sugar issues with Edward. So happy to be tandem nursing on demand at home now!

18.85 % red team
17.27 % green team

I was able to update the spreadsheet on my phone but screen shots of them has proven difficult.

It is fo much better being at home, not the hospital. No one coming to take their vitals all the time. Edward likes to eat for 15 every hour to hour and a half but William likes to eat for 35-40 minutes every 3 hours. About every other feed they are together which is nice. It is sort of funny how it is breast milk in poop out at. Almost every feed. I just love how they curl their little hands up by their faces and watch me with their big blue eyes. I am so in love!

178.6. I met my goal of 180 by the end of this challenge! Only down 0.2 from last week's weigh-in, but my only goal was to not gain weight during Christmas. Now as New Year's is upon us, I'm ready to get back on the wagon again. Hope to see you all in the next challenge!

Unfortunately, I'm down at 185 this week, but that's because I have a nasty stomach bug.  Sigh.  If I can recover soon, I should be able to fit some decent exercise in this week.  There isn't too much on my schedule.

189.5. I went to the new rink on Saturday and skated for an hour. Most of my exercise has been moving boxes from the garage and unpacking. Hoping to join a new rec league team soon and I have a 4 day hockey tourney at end of January.

161 (sigh). Merry Christmas.

Congratulations, Lilac, on your beautiful baby boys!

I'm sorry to report for the sake of my team that I'm going to end this challenge higher than when I started. My weight today was 140.

I'm not sorry for myself, however, as this is almost pure water/glycogen (see my earlier post about gaining/losing water after overeating). I took 3 days off from calorie counting over the holidays as we visited three sets of grandparents for Xmas dinner on the 24th, 25th, and 26th. I ate LOTS of yummy food and chocolate! When I weighed myself the morning of the 27th I was 141.5, an apparent gain of almost 5 lbs. I knew it was mostly water/glycogen and sure enough, I have been steadily losing 0.5 - 1 lb per day since I got back into a caloric deficit (which is virtually impossible were this actually fat). Yesterday I slipped up a bit and overindulged in dessert, so didn't drop this morning, but I'm back on track and in another couple of days I should back down to my pre-holiday weight of 137.

So I'm pretty happy because I didn't gain more than a pound of fat over the holidays (based on an estimate of 3500 extra calories = 1 lb of fat), I got to eat my face off for a couple of days, and the water weight gain is dropping off quickly (which, despite me knowing what it is, is still encouraging). I'm just sad that this all timed itself so badly with the end of this contest, because my score for the team is basically zero, even though I have lost a couple of pounds over this challenge.

Happy New Year everybody!

Oh, Lilac, congratulations! What sweeties those boys are!

I forgot to post yesterday but I was exactly 64kg (141.1lb). A 300g gain but not too bad over Christmas.

I'm hoping to start running again soon for the first time since before DD1 was born! There will be more walking than running I'm sure but I feel like my body wants to do something :-)
