Beta/HCG levels - Page 4

Thanks for all the reassurance, ladies! I called the office today to see what my progesterone level was and she said 12.8. I just got Progestelle in the mail and I began using it immediately.

Flower of Bliss, I was pretty surprised myself, although we were not trying and not preventing. I knew to keep a watch and keep tests in the house and test early so I could get on progesterone right away because I've used it with my past two babies.

Yay OSTC! Glad you are all good!

bbcatcher yours look perfect too! Congrats!

Jenjy- how are you dear? Any recent word? Hope things are going well for you.

I am in NYC for a few days with hubby tagging along for his business trip. We brought DS (2) and DSD (15). She is an A student so she could miss a couple of school days. We have had fun but so exhausting. I am glad I brought my iron pills! Really wiped out and they are helping, I can tell.

I am waiting to be scheduled for an early sonogram to see if baby is okay and things are on track (since I have had a couple of recent losses early on).

Take care everyone!!

Hey ladies! The numbers are looking good!

I got my second beta back a week ago, just now posting it. Oops!!

16 dpo- 2,145 (ish-75?)
22dpo- 19,075!!!!!

They won't do an ultrasound until 12 weeks.... I'll look 20 weeks pregnant by then because I'm OBVIOUSLY carrying g a litter.

Oh wow Vivica!!! Awesome! :-)

Vivica - Wow!!!! Now those are some impressive betas! I'm very surprised that with those numbers they won't do an ultrasound sooner. Seems wise to do a head count, lol.

wow vivica those numbers are insane!

Mine was so much lower than yours, and I am carrying twins!

Oh believe me, I agree! I spent a week with dr google freaking out!!! And it didn't help....

The doc said at 16 dpo "it looks like you are 2-3 weeks pregnant" I was to stupefied by the number to answer. If I had been thinking I would have realized that she meant fetal age, but didn't realize that's what she meant. She thought it looked normal, but if she has subtracted the two weeks like she was supposed to, she would see what I see! I called today to try to get in, still waiting for a call back.

Got Thursday's results yesterday: ~5300.  Still rising, but still too slowly.  Went to get an ultrasound to rule out ectopic.  Tubes were clear thankfully, but the sac was too small and I'm 100% sure of my dates.  :(   What's weird is my hcg is starting to pick up speed ... yesterday's hcg drawn at the hospital was ~8600.  Hopefully my body figures it out sooner rather than later.  Thank you for asking!

I'm very excited for everyone else on this post -- your numbers are all terrific and I'm excited for all of you!!

Awwwww I am sorry to hear that you didn't get great news. I read your other post as well that said you were discontinuing the progesterone. Does the doc think that would cause the hcg to increase? I hope for a miracle...maybe you implanted later?? I know it is really hard, waiting to miscarry. That limbo stage was very painful for me. I didn't want to leave the house and was very gloomy. I hope that you have support around you and I'm still hoping that this is a viable pregnancy. Take good care of yourself.

wengrin, no, the doctor had no idea why the hcg is not only still increasing, but is increasing faster now.  They were pretty baffled.  I should be 8 weeks this Friday -- even if I implanted a little later, it just really didn't match the u/s at all.  Besides, I was taking sensitive tests starting at 8 DPO and got my first squinter at 11 DPO -- I couldn't have implanted later than ~9DPO.  Thank you though for your positive thoughts!!  I appreciate your support!!

Thank you, ericaf and kittymom.

Jenjy, I can completely understand your decision to stop the progesterone. I sort of did the same thing when I had a loss two cycles ago (it was earlier, at 5 weeks) but my hcg was so low, like 12....it was over the weekend and they wanted to recheck on Monday. So I took another pregnancy test on Saturday and it was much lighter than on Friday. So I knew my numbers were going down. I didn't want to delay the inevitable. I figured if it was a healthy pregnancy then somehow my body would figure it out. I started bleeding on Monday.

I am so sorry, but I am definitely keeping you in my thoughts....

Jenjy - I'm very sorry to hear about things not going well. Are your docs going to keep doing hcg tests or follow up with another ultrasound?

I don't have time to read through posts right now. Sorry, mamas. I just wanted to update that at 14 DPO hCG was 179. Yesterday, at 19 DPO it was 1956. The nurse said that sounded good, but I don't have time to sit and do math right now either. My kids have just gone bonkers! UGH! Oh, also I asked for progesterone to be tested again and it wasn't. I'm upset about that to say the least! I went ahead and started supplementing once a day anyway.

texasfarmom, those numbers sound like they are rising perfectly!

wengrin, I'm sorry for your loss earlier this year, too.  It is so hard.   mamablue, thank you.  Yes, we had plans for further testing, but it turns out not to be necessary.  I started to m/c last night.  I thought it would take a while with my hcg numbers acting wacky, but I guess stopping the progesterone helped my body figure it out.

Thank you again.  I will be thinking of you all and I wish you wonderful pregnancies and births!!

Jenjy - I am so so sorry this is happening. My hope for you is that the process goes quickly and that you are gentle with yourself. Much love mama.

Early US and another Beta scheduled for Wed.  I did injectable and IUI so they like to do an US at just over 5 wks to make sure it is not in the tubes because the fert treatments appearentley increase that chance.

Can I ask what they can see at that point via us?

Bbcatcher they can see a yolk sack and make sure it is not in the tubes. I think the also do it to see how many as I did injectables with iui. I had 3 or 4 mature follicles. ee only saw 1 sack so I go back mon 7wks to hear hesrtbest snd hopefully get released to my ob/midwife
