Adjusting to New Caregiver

We've started hiring a woman to come and help out a few hours a week doing dishes, laundry, and hopefully, eventually, taking care of Julia while I work. I knew it would take a while for my daughter, who is 3 months old, to get used to a new caregiver, but I am wondering if anyone has perspectives on how long it takes for the adjustment to take place? And what can we do to help it along?

Currently she is happy with her AT BEST for 10 minutes at a time before wailing for me. Obviously I'm not getting anything more done this way, but I am OK with that as long as it improves.

We hired a very pt caregiver (3 hours a day, 3 days/ week) at about the time my son was 6 months old. I'd say the first two, maybe three weeks were rough. Lots of tears, it was heartbreaking honestly. But after about that timeframe he grew to like and trust our nanny and it's great now. I'm so glad I stuck it out, having a break preserves my sanity, helps me be a better mom, and my son and nanny enjoy each other a lot.
I know my sons is a bit older than your child, and it's anecdotal, but I hope my experience is helpful to hear.

It is! That's exactly our schedule. Were you around for any of this time, or was this something were you left him completely? Did you do anything special to help them bond?
