In search of a CMN for a home birth in Howard County/MD

Hello all, I came to this forum after a long and hopeless search for a CMN in my area that offers home births.

We just moved here few months ago and I found out I am pregnant last week. every practice I called either doesn't have no midwives or doesn't do home births or doesnt return my call :(

Do midwives take insurance? or we will have to pay and deal with the insurance on our own? we have blue shield blue cross.

Thank you so much

Where do you live?

It depends on the state where you live whether you will find CNMs with homebirth practices.

Some midwives bill insurance, some do not.

Oops - I see you gave your location in the thread subject line. Have you posted in forum grouped by states?

Look under "Find moms in your area"

Not sure where Howard Co is, I know that there are areas of Maryland that aren't very close to DC or Delaware - but this might be a place to start looking.
