are there people on here who did zero vaccinations for their kids ever? - Page 2

My 5 and 2 year old have had zero vaccinations. They have been extremely healthy in comparison to their fully vaccinated same age cousins as well as compared to the early childhood history of their fully vaccinated older brothers. My 5 yr old has never been on antibiotics and have only gone to the doctor a handful of times, once for stitches and once for a broken bone. My 2 yr old was on his first antibiotic at 20 months for a stubborn ear infection that wouldn't clear with home care.

Compare that to my older vaxed kids who were on antibiotics multiple times in their first year for ear infections, prone to croup, two were hospitalized due to dehydration due to a nasty GI virus (even though they were both EBF). They also all struggle with allergies, asthma, skin issues, etc. We don't have those issues with our younger two. They do get the occasional cold but they get over it quickly and without complications. Stomach viruses are over in a day or less. Its great having healthy kids! :)

my boys, both preemies - now 6.5 and 4 have had no vaxes, and no antibiotics. they are both pretty healthy, but they do tend to hold onto night time coughs...so likely post-nasal drips, well after colds resolve. fever has been a very rare occurrence. I do think breastfeeding past two has been an integral part of building their overall health and strength of their immune system.

I feel this too re vaxing. my husband is pro-vaccine and I am against it, but I may consider selective as their immune systems mature. am really glad we haven't thus far

One is an adult and only received the 80's versions and had a reaction at age 5 - nothing past that

my other is now 5 (BIG GAP) 100% free - my first only had one round of antibiotics until age 18 due to a animal bite and it was days before the dog was caught and tested - so far my 5 year old (soon to be 6) has had no antibiotics

My adult son was partially vaxed, BLW at 24 mos.,  and always sick.

My 12yo has had zero vaxes, BLW at 60 mos., and catches little colds as often as everyone else but manages to fight them off in 24 hrs or less almost every single time.  I say "almost" because he has had a few instances of illness that were more severe, but it was all weird stuff for which there is no vax, like 5th disease and hand, foot, and mouth disease.

My almost 4 year old (in two weeks) had only received hepB shot at birth. Breastfed until almost 3. During the 4 years, while exposed to everything possible, she had an instance of vomiting for a few hours (interaction with her little friend w. a stomach bug for 24hrs/d for a few days in a row - I didn't limit their time spent together, it wasn't even possible - she got over it incredibly quickly unlike her friend whom she got it from)  and she had her first fever this September (probably Roseola). She is incredibly healthy. I don't know if it's genetic, or her not being vaccinated, extended breastfeeding, organic diet and healthy foods in general, or a combo of some of these things. Our second is almost 8 months and also very healthy, she has had zero vaccines.

I have five children, ages 29, 26, 18, 14 and 11.  My two oldest were "fully" vaccinated, but for them, that was about 21 doses by school age, not the 50 plus vaccines today's children are getting.  My 3rd child was vaccinated to age 4,  my now 14 year old hasn't had a shot since his 3rd round of shots, (which almost killed him), so my youngest, now 11, has never had a shot, and surprise surprise, he is the healthiest of all five.  He's never had a sick visit.  He's had a couple mild illnesses, but I could count on one hand the number of times he's been sick, and mild at that.  I think with him I am finally witnessing an immune system (an intact one) operating in the way in which it was intended.

My son is 4 1/2 and has never had vaxes or antibiotics. He is a big healthy kid. He is in preschool now, so he does get his share of runny noses and has been sick with a fever a couple times. He nursed until he was 3 1/2.

My 20 month old has had NO vaccines and is by far healthier than all my friends that have kids her age. She's only ever been sick 2x. Once was a nasty cold we all got (but we had just moved and were under a lot of stress and so I think that affected us).. But she got over it in 2 days whereas dh and i suffered for 3 or 4 days. The other time she had a virus that lasted 48 hours.. High fever and no other symptoms. I do not shelter her. We practice good hand washing, she takes a multivitamin daily, probiotics daily, eats mostly organic/non-GMO foods, and gets good sleep daily. We also take her outside to get fresh air whenever possible. She is happy and healthy.

The only vaccine I have ever considered is for hib. If I do ever decide to give it to her, id wait until after age 2 to ensure her blood brain barrier is completley formed

Yes.  Check the archives. Lots and lots of families here have never been vaccinated for decades.

Not on here, and not that anyone should emulate celebrities, but editted to add that actress Lisa Bonet claimed back in the early 1990s that she did not vax her daughter, Zoey Kravitz, now an adult. Since celebrities live in the public eye, a person would know more about the life of a celebrity than of a person here on mdc.   River Phoenix claimed he and his siblings were not;  John Robbins also.

See part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6r2wMB6o9w

Actress and Dr. Mayim Bialik PhD Neurology from UCLA did not vax her two boys and she does not discuss it with anyone.

If you know any chiropractic families, often times, chiropractors do not vaccinate their children; this is not always true, but I do know quite a few, especially if chiropractics is a family business/practice.

Zero vaccines for my 6 year old. Rarely sick & recovers fast when sick. Perfect attendance at school so far this year.

No vaccinations for my son, now 19 months. A healthy, happy and vigorous fellow. One or two very minor stuffy noses so far, both of which cleared up in a couple of days.

My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and has had no vaccinations.  She has never one had a sick visit.  She hasn't even really had well visits.  Never sick, no ear infections.  I believe that she caught Rorovirus (or a really bad stomach bug) (I didn't know that babies could puke like that).  She has never once had a sick visit.  She hasn't even really had well visits.  Never sick, no ear infections.

My dd has had zero vaccines and was born at home so she didn't have any hospital sneaks either. I know she is young-- 20 months--but we are very active, ie out in public exposure.. very involved with playgroups, meetups, daily Park trips, hours at the library, and she has only had 1minor cold her entire life, not a single other thing more. Oh and she's never been on antibiotics.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove with your question. Without coming down either for or against vaccinations - why in the world would people who don't vaccinate be likely to have unhealthy kids? Vaccines provide some level of immunity against specific diseases, many of which are currently extremely rare, and most of which rarely cause any lasting harm for most people who get them. Vaccines don't promote overall health (except insofar as they help prevent long-term complications from those specific diseases) or prevent infection with other diseases (eg. getting the flu vaccine won't prevent you from getting a bad cold).

Responsible vaccination promoters will be realistic about this.

Are you non-vax?

Your post seem a little snappish, IMHO.   See bolded.

I reread the OP.  It was a very short post and it does not seem to me like she is trying to prove anything,  just looking for non-vax stories.  Non-vaxxing is not a common choice, sometimes non-vaxxers just like to know other non-vaxxers are out there.

Selective. One of my kids has had no vaccinations, though she'll get some at some point. And yes, she's currently healthy. As are the two who have had one or more vaccinations (one of whom may have had chicken pox and mumps, with no lasting effects from either (making the assumption that his fertility is intact, as he was well before puberty at the time and had no symptoms that would lead me to believe his testes were involved)). As am I, overall, and I'm about as vaccinated as a non-military person living in the US can be (minus the current flu vax).

I'm in a bit of a bad mood and probably came across badly. I've been seeing increasing blind pro-vax sentiment lately that is pissing me off (eg. comments on a local news station blaming a TB outbreak on non-vaxxers. Not part of the standard CDC vaccine schedule, guys). My irritation is mainly aimed at people who imply that vaccines make people healthy, and I definitely don't think that's what the OP was saying. I think it's sad that people have doubts that a non-vaccinated child could be overall healthy, and irresponsible of vaccine promoters to imply that vaccines do more to promote overall health than they do, though I'm not anti-vax by any means, either.
