aversions? cravings? what are yours?

Thread Starter

with my first i pretty much had an aversion to EVERYTHING and could only eat super bland foods (which is strange because i normally love things rather spicy).  with my second i don't recall any particular aversions, but i preferred most things to be SUPER cold (again, which is strange because it normally like most things at room temperature -- whether it's my tea or my beer).

no particular aversions or cravings with this one yet, but i gotta say, apples are so dang tasty right now.

so, what do you have a hankering for, what is tasting amazing and what can you not even be in the same room with?

Gluten-free waffles with almond butter are revolting right now. That was my staple breakfast last pregnancy.

Last time I was so into hard boiled eggs--now they are ok, but edging on gross. I feel better afterwards, though. Last night I was have fantasies about spinach, so i think that'll be on the menu tonight...

My aversions seem to be developing the same as last time, though maybe a little sooner.  Italian sausages smell gross now and my usual love affair with Chipotle is much more subdued (as in it just doesn't sound good).  Last time most of my aversions were to meats of various kinds.  I didn't have a ton of actual cravings, but ice cream was universally delicious.

Fried chicken. For whatever reason, its just so awesome right now. I had it twice this week!

Apple slices with a slice of smoked gouda on top of each apple. YEEESSSS!!!

I don't have specific aversions, but I don't have a lot of appetite.  If my stomach wasn't growling I probably wouldn't eat! I did have a moment the other day with the Goddess dressing on my salad, but it's possible that it had just been in the fridge too long.

We had biscuits and gravy last night and it was soooo good :)

No serious aversions or cravings, but interestingly enough NOTHING sounds good until I eat it and so far EVERYTHING tastes good once I get a bite into my mouth.  So, I basically have to force myself to prepare things that sound gross (becauses nothing sounds good) and then, so far, it all tastes fine going down.  I guess the exception to the rule is that plain yogurt seems to sound good all the time...forgot about that one.  Eating lots of yogurt snacks these days.

I just want to eat when I imagine. I usually care so little about food.... All of a sudden I'm dreaming about it. Ice cream ice cream ! I never eat dairy because I'm lactose intolerant and I think its disgusting , for some reason I dreamed about ice cream for days yesterday I got some , I also got horrible gas . today I had to have Indian food . this morning I wanted mushrooms it's strange for me to crave anything I could live on quinoa and beans usually

Lilstar, I was craving fried chicken the other day, but didn't tell my wife because I knew there was no way she'd be okay with me eating it. It still sounds so good though. I might have to talk her into it.

Turtlemag, that is how I feel most of the time, except not much has tasted great, pizza last night did though. I can only eat really small portions at a time too or else I feel sick, it makes planning for work pretty interesting.

That moment when you feel kinda "blah", know you need to eat, but can't think of anything that will go down easy... Until suddenly you just know!

Bacon. Baby wants bacon. I might need to make an emergency store run because dang it, I need some protein, and I finally thought of one I can eat!

Same here Turtlemamameg. Yogurt plain, whole milk organic- has been a staple!! I can't seem to find much that sounds good

Hotmom I had quinoia and brown rice for dinner last night. And heated it up again for lunch today. Strange food aversions and only a few things sound tolerable. Lol....

I'm at that annoying stage where I HAVE to have something, so I get a bunch of it, and it tastes good exactly once. -sigh- DP had me make a bunch of fridge pickles yesterday, so I'm hoping those will be good for a while...

I am up an heaving about 4am every morning this week. Yesterday it kicked back in after my bacon and eggs, bacon hurts to throw up, and I need to chew my food more, lol. I'm starving all the time until I try to eat, the second I put something in my mouth -yucko. We have chicken so I've been trying to eat our fresh eggs everyday because there is a substantial difference in the quality and taste, but even those have been turning my stomach. I saw spoiled milk yesterday, and that was it, the bigest gut trigger ever pulled. I can't eat saltines (celiac) but i'm heavy on chicken broth, at least if i can't eat that moment it might make my tummy more receptive in a few minutes kind of thinking.

So far, sickness/aversions/cravings aren't half as bad as last time, but they are there. I've only thrown up once, and nothing triggered it -- I just woke up with the overwhelming urge. My nausea mostly seems to come from NOT eating, as I'm missing a lot of meals simply from no desire to eat, and not being able to think of anything tasty. Or I get the food in front of me, and suddenly can't bring myself to eat it. It's not overwhelming though, like it was at this point in my previous pregnancy.

Fatigue, on the other hand, has reared its tiring head, and hit me like a ton of bricks over the weekend. I came home from Liturgy and took a 2+ hour nap, and now I'm sitting here like a vegetable, unable to recover from all of that exertion. ;)

I've been craving healthy snacks like carrots and hummus, honey crisp apples w peanut butter, fancy cheese on bread.  I've been averse to many things I usually love - not into steak right now, my very own recipe for meatloaf even made me a bit nauseated.  I tend to throw up when I'm hungry too, so I've been snacking on dry cheerios and applesauce between "meals".

Morning sickness just hit full force yesterday, so I'm currently not feeling like eating anything, but trying to force myself to eat as it's worse when my blood sugar gets low and I don't want to lose a bunch of weight like in the past.... Before that though I was eating a ton of avecodaos!

Blech.  First real day of morning sickness yesterday.  Ate all morning to keep it at bay and just felt gross.  I LOVE tuna melts when pregnant.  With banana peppers.  I love them when I'm not pregnant too, but it rises to the level of mania when I'm pregnant.  Trying to limit mercury exposure obviously means I can't eat it every day.  But I would if I could.

Lily--I've been craving a tuna melt since yesterday--maybe today is the day I get to have one!

DefineGrace--I'm eating this: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/potato-kale-soup-with-gruyre-10000000522150/ (with a bunch of annoying changes--no gruyere, added bacon, white beans, and sriracha) and it's perfect. Not heavy, bland but not too boring, lots of vitamins, warm. Maybe worth a try with the chicken broth?

I can't stand fruit of any kind, but I love vegetables, cheese and soup.

I'm back in my " nothing leafy" phase.   That's about it for the moment..
