So my husband, son and I were planning on going to my father's lake house for Thanksgiving and spending it with that side of my family. My dad called me yesterday to work out which sides we were planning on bringing, what time we were coming etc and then at the end of the conversation he says " Oh, I forgot to tell you that your sister has mono. She is feeling much better so it should be fine, just thought I would let you know."
So now I am kind of stressing out about this! I have three sisters still in high school so I guess it's not so unexpected that this would happen at some point. I honestly don't know very much about mono, but googling online it said that it can be contagious for up to a year or two? Does anyone know if that is true? I had a friend come down with mono when I was in high school and she was miserable and missed three months of school. Obviously I am not going to let him drink or eat after her, or let her kiss him on the cheeks or anything but we are all going to be in close proximity hanging out, eating and all that kind of stuff. He is 18 months old so he still puts stuff in his mouth constantly which has me worried.
So if you guys were in my situation what would you do? Am I completely worrying over nothing?
As long as responses are polite, I actually don't mind if NVers respond to this thread too. Any advice would be great!
