FET - single injection Lupron day 21 - anyone familiar with this protocol???

Hey All,

I did two natural FET cycles in Aug. and Sept. that resulted in BFNs. I'm currently on a medicated cycle, and had a single injection of Lupron on day 21. I was told I would get my period within a week (day 28, right?), but it's now day 34 with no sign. I'm still nursing my 2 yr old, and the doctor knows. I'm a single mama, and there's no chance I'm pregnant, unless I got pregnant in Sept. and the beta missed it and I have no symptoms!!! Anyway, I went for blood this morning to see what's up. I can't find anything about this protocol online, so I'm wondering if anyone has heard of it, or done, it, or knows what it's called! I'll be talking to the nurse this afternoon, but it's driving me crazy this morning!

Thanks!

At my clinic in Montreal the standard protocol for a FET calls for a Lupron injection at day 21.
I did not do this protocol personally as I was on a modified protocol where I took Lupron for 2 months prior to the FET cycle. I always took Lupron on CD1 and would not get any periods after that as long as I kept doing a Lupron injection every 28 days. However I do know a few people who did the standard FET protocol with Lupron on day 21 and they got their period as usual.

How long have your last few cycles been? Do you know whether you ovulated before doing the Lupron injection? I think Lupron can stop ovulation from happennig if you do the injection before ovulation, but if it's after ovulation then your period should come at the same time as usual. At my clinic they always ask you how long your cycle normally is, and then they subtract 7 days from that length and have you do the injection then to make sure it's after ovulation, so some people end up taking the Lupron later than CD21 if they have long cycles.

Hey Sourire!

I remember you from my IVF days - huge congrats on your growing pregnancy!

My cycles were regular since DD was 11 mo. I talked to the nurse yesterday and she said that the bloodwork indicates that I ovulated. If I don't get my period by Sunday, they'll pull me from the cycle. She said that occasionally this happens. So now I'm on a mission to menstruate ;)

Bleh. I haven't been to the dark place in 2 1/2 years, but I'm getting glimpses of it again. I don't like this at all :(

My tricks for getting AF to show up faster are drinking red wine and having sex! But I've noticed that whenever we desperately want AF to show up, it's late... That happened to me with my first FET when I didn't take Lupron, I think AF was almost a week late and I've never been late in my life... It's such a stressful experience.
