When to give sodium asorbate

DD is 4 months old and unvaxxed and hasn't had whooping cough. I know that I should give her Vit. C when she has a cold to prevent a horrible whooping cough episode if that's indeed what it is. The silly question I have is when do I know she's sick? Shes had a stuffy nose and hacks lately but I think that's just learning how to deal with all that teething spit. Plus, I always get stuffy noses when it's cold out. I remember being a kid and being stuffed up from October to May. i have a head thermometer but I heard someone say that their kid never had a fever even with horrible whooping cough?

We just take it year round and then up the dose as needed when sick.  I can always tell when DD is "off"....sometimes it's sleeping more, sometimes not wanting to eat, usually she wants to nurse 24/7 if she's feeling down.  You kind of just know they are sick.  Not very descriptive but they're all different.  Even if you have the slightest inclination something is off, Vit C it up!  You really can't go wrong.

Another stupid question. DD is ebf and has never taken a bottle so how do I give it to her?

I used to get the liquid drops and DD would just take them on her tongue, and when she was older (6+ mos) and I was back at work part time she got powdered C mixed in with what I pumped for that day.

I should add that I also up my intake if I think DD is coming down with something so she's getting I through me as well at the supplement she takes.
