December (already!) chat

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing...

I finally got a hazelwood necklace and I think it has been helping keep my indigestion at bay. woot! I also started taking burdock root tincture and that has definitely helped with my itchy legs! yay!

I am still craving pickles. I was craving gummy bears but thankfully I'm over that. Now I'm craving mustard (so I've been eating a lot of sandwiches!), salad with lots of cucumbers and avocados, and vanilla ice cream with added peanut butter.

Baby is pretty active especially in the morning and late at night. makes my heart jump for joy when I feel him kicking. We haven't even come close to deciding on a name yet though :-/ we have completely opposite taste when it comes to boy names apparently.

As someone mentioned in another thread, I have been in a "nesting" type mood already which is great when I'm at home but makes it really hard to focus when I'm at work! haha

what's new with you?

oh and I hope it's ok that I started this chat thread!

Totally okay! :D

I'm doing well!
I want to eat all of the ham and cheese. Just all the time. Luckily I like it hot.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm driving my husband crazy with the endless To Do lists. He does like the cleaner house but wishes I'd magically have no needs on weekends. That might be more likely if he didn't have the car all week! Nesting! :)

And boy names are hard. I was dreading that bit if this was a boy. Luckily it seems it's a girl. A very very active girl. I sure like her :D

+1  on boy names being a challenge...we're so far off from a decision.

Up to now I haven't had any swelling, but noticed yesterday my rings were a bit harder to get off than usual when I went swimming. Today it was so tight it actually hurt a little so I took them off and now, hours later, can still see the impression of where they go. Hoping that if I drink enough water I will be able to put them on again in a day or two! (or is that just totally wishful thinking?)

I'm definitely getting giant and a bit uncomfortable, though I feel good overall. My skin is so dry that my face looks red though. It's a bit alarming. I don't know what to use on it though. I don't want to cause a breakout on top of the redness!

I bought dips and clothes. Now I just have to find a good wall-mounted changing table.

I second the coconut oil! I use a lotion from tropical traditions that has coconut oil in it. I got that instead of straight coconut oil because I honestly can't stand the smell of coconut oil! :-/

@newmama2b I am going through the same! I have noticed that sometimes my rings feel tight and sometimes it's fine. weird though because I drink loads of water. i never had this problem with my first either.

+1 on the coconut oil, but just be really careful if you put it on your face before putting on your shirt---it comes out, but I've stained twice by accident that way. I buy the Trade Joe's brand that you can find with their cooking oils (I also use it for cooking!).

Also feeling huge and hungry and heartburn. I'll have to look into this necklace idea.

We chose a name for our (girl): Georgiana Ethel Faye
The kids are calling her Georgi.

Aww I love it! @tabitha

My daughter uses an amber necklace for teething pains and I had heard of hazelwood helping with acidity (so it may be helpful when baby is first born or if they spit up a lot) but I hadn't thought to use one for my own issues until recently! It works surprisingly well!!

I think Thanksgiving was hard on me. We stayed up until 1am working on a puzzle sitting at a high barstool kind of table plus I didn't drink nearly enough. I also had to scrub the carpet 4 times (!) for the accidents my potty learner had. I didnt have a diaper for back up either. She's been perfect at church and even at the same house for Halloween.m The next day I slept on and off until noon each time I woke up I started having what felt like contractions across the top of my belly! I'm feeling back to normal though, with an uncharacteristic lack of indigestion this time around ( I even have a hiatal hernia). Maybe I'll be having a little baldy this time orngbiggrin.gif

I'm doing over all well.  the day before tday we had a preterm labor scare so the mister and i ended up spending thanksgiving laying on the couch watching trashy movies...it was honestly, other than the worry, a pretty all right way to spend the day.

Since then i've been being extra careful to take it really extra easy, though it's difficult on my pride to not be able to do much productive outside of work, of course keeping her on the inside until she's term is more important.

She's super super active though and that is great to know, reassuring when i'm worrying...and my asthma has been doing better as well. so woo hoo

Nonono, Selissa. You tell her that she can't do that again.
I'm glad she's so active and reassuring and laying around watching trashy movies is a plus :)

I have a lot buzzing through my mind right now.  I am thinking of switching providers or at least meeting with another one.  I am going for a VBA2C and found a great OB who is really supportive, I really like him, the problem it is a three hour drive one way which I am willing to make.  I have been seeing him for the last couple of months.  I just found out through an ICAN group that a Dr. I have seen for other lady issues is also doing them now and she is only one hour away.  I talked with a doula who has worked with her and she thought she and the hospital were very supportive.  So now I am thinking I will at least call for an appointment with her tomorrow and get a feel if this will be a good switch.  Financially it will be way better for us and not driving through the winter the extra four hours each appointment sounds great, just a little nervous at the thought of changing things up.  I feel like I was already on the same page with the first one and he basically thought my requests were all reasonable.

I feel a bit of pressure that this is my last shot for a vaginal birth and I have decided a hospital birth is what I need to do at this point (even though my heart is still with home birth), I am just hoping for the best possible outcome as mush as I can contribute to it.

steffanie - I would definitely meet with the other Doctor and then go with your gut.  I switched care providers when I was about 34 weeks with my first.  It wasn't a problem (we had moved), they just wanted a copy of my prenatal records.  Good luck!

Oh this pelvis pain is getting me down. I can barely walk by the end of the night. Bad pelvis!

@steffanie3 def meet with the other doctor to see if it's a good fit! not having to travel 3 hours would be so much easier, especially when you near the end and have more appointments!

@Selissa I have been having weird pain where my hip meets my lower back. things like that make me feel like an old lady! LOL I did finally meet with a chiropractor to get an adjustment. It felt so good! have you tried that?

I have an appointment Friday, looking forward to it :)

Selissa you are reminding me I should probably get a chiro appointment Friday as well, even though I am not hurting yet.

If you bend over  and brace yourself on something like a couch or a chair and then ... http://on.aol.com/video/how-to-do-the-belly-dance-vertical-figure-8-move-517293226
I
t's good to do standing, too but if you bend, you really isolate your sacro-illiac joint and makes life better :)
