Pregnancy After Placement - A Place for Birth/First Moms who are Pregnant and Planning to Parent

Thread Starter

I placed a child for adoption 15 years ago. I am currently pregnant with the 6th child that I will parent. Every pregnancy I think I will be emotionally ok but every time the issues around the adoption placement come back to haunt me. I wanted to reach out and see who else is going through the same thing. I was hoping we could support each.

Is there anybody else?

Yes. 18 years for me, and now pregnant with the first child I will mother.

Counseling for several years after the event helped tremendously.

I feel that all the years of growth (and pain) have made me a much wiser person.

At 18/19, I was still reeling from an abusive childhood and was in no shape to be a mama.

I don't know what else to say except I can relate.

This feeling of love and support I now have, and having the best man I've ever known as my partner, is such a positive, overwhelmingly relieving state of mind. I'm still pinching myself over here.

Warmth and light to you.
