Now I have flipped to the other side and have some really super heavy duty fatigue (yes, all those adjectives are necessary)!  It's a big deal for me to even make it out to the mailbox!

Hi ladies, looks like I could try a cal/mag supplement! I am getting some daily exercise in the form of 2-3 miles brisk walking, 12 flights of stairs up/down, and an evening routine of planks and squats. My heart rate has definitely increased since I tested positive, so some thumping is noticed here and there, including when I wake at night.

Do you recommend a specific type/dose of supplement?

Thank you so much for responding!

I alternate 200-400mg magnesium citrate each day.  I don't take it as a cal/mag combo bc my dairy intake is very high.  The magnesium is a nice relaxer, that's for sure.  I don't notice anything distinctly from it - but my sleep is deeper and more restful.  You'll know if you're taking too much if your urine looks cloudy in the morning!

That being said, I'm not sure magnesium will solve the problem if you are waking at night with the thumping heart like I was.  That is a side effect of your progesterone kicking into high gear.

Progesterone is tied to norepinephrine production.  Norepinephrine is a type of neurotransmitter (like adrenaline) that causes increased hr, a stronger heart beat, and usually a slight increase in blood pressure.  It also triggers increased progesterone production, which is necessary to support a pregnancy.  Some people never feel it but in others it has a more pulsatile release that causes marked sensations like we've both experienced.  From what I've read it's totally normal - just some people are more sensitive to it than others.

I have to take magnesium too, even when I'm not pregnant. I take magnesium malate, no calcium.

Ugh, I became super sick last night after all the food on Christmas. I'll save everyone from the gory details but it was bad. I'm 8 weeks and 3 days I think...can't wait to be done with this part.

I had cramping through the whole first trimester of my last pregnancy.  It's totally normally and no reason to be worried.

I have to keep reminding myself I had awful cramping with my son. So much of my cramping seems to do with digestion stuff. I seem to already be having constipation issues. The worse it is the wise the cramps are. Cal/mag seems to help.

i second the mag.  my bowels act up so badly when pregnant, so i find that really really helps.  w/ my 2nd i got such painful horrible cramping at 4 months it scared me to death (we also happened to be on a road trip in NJ and had drive from MO!!!)- but it was just constipation.

make sure you're moving them daily!!!

best to you and yours!!!!

Nauseated almost all day everyday, sigh. In a bad mood about it and depressed about the m/c(s) :(

I'll be back in a couple weeks when I feel better and when I'm in a safer zone (time-wise). :)

Oh, I read today that hcg is highest btwn 8-10 weeks, so hang tight if you're there with me!

Ladies, I can't BELIEVE my hunger lately.  I feel a wave of nausea, and then immediately ravenous hunger!  This repeats all day.  Just those tiny waves of nausea that come and go so fast but herald a savage hunger that will not relent!  My stomach just growls and growls 30 minutes after eating and sometimes while I'm eating!  I ate a massive dinner tonight and less then an hour late feel I am starving again!  Wow it's extreme.

I understand.. be gentle with yourself. <3

I don't mind the fatigue. The mild nausea. The ravenous hunger. Ouchie boobs. But man the constipation plus the no fun BM post cal-mag is super frustrating.

I hate this phase of pregnancy. I just feel queasy- never throw up, but i almost would if I thought it would make me feel better. Nothing tastes good. So I don't want to eat. then I get grumpy. I think I have found something that helps the nasty taste in my mouth- cinnamon chewing gum. Mint makes me want to hurl, but cinnamon-yum!

That is exactly how I feel. I tried to describe it to my husband and he didn't understand (this is our first). I said to him that I just felt all around gross, which I do suppose is an odd thing to feel.

I said the exact same thing to my husband just two days ago!

I concur with all of you about the grossness!  Generally tired, generally queasy, generally greasy hair (ick to the highest degree).  There is no glow here.  SOMEONE STOLE MY GLOW!

Pssh..don't even get me started about the supposed glow...lol.  My skin acts like it's going through puberty again.

Still having a lot of crampings that feel like AF...choosing to believe it's just my uterus growing...

I would also like to report a missing glow, please. If anyone sees it, send it my way.

:)

I'm not breaking out but I'm certainly not glowing either. I have seborrheic dermatitis (adult cradle cap) all over both my scalp and face. Since I got pregnant it's been pretty bad. Also my hair is greasy. Fun stuff. Hopefully they hand out the "glow" soon.

I'm not glowing either, more like "shining" as you can see your reflection in my impossibly oily sheen on my face and hair.
