Pregnancy Symptoms - Page 5

Oh my goodness I have been having the WORST dreams too. Seriously waking me up all through the night. The worst one I had last night was that somehow I was exposed to Rubella while pregnant and baby ended up all disfigured with a ton of health problems. :-(

Someone on this forum or the other one I'm on went on a cruise recently! lol

I'll see which one it is in the morning, I think my insomnia might be wearing off!!!

I got back last Sunday from a week long cruise. It was good and bad pregnancy wise. My MS really kicked in on the way there. You know how certain foods or smells can trigger that shuddery nausea feeling? Well, since it all peaked on the cruise, just remembering the whole trip for me gives me that feeling.

However, it was a really easy place to be pregnant. Non-stop food, whatever I wanted, and protein whenever I needed it. I took Dramamine every day and ginger pills, and those seemed to help with the seasickness. As long as I munched constantly, I was fairly ok. And lots and lots of chances to be beautifully first-trimestery lazy. But still, thinking back on it gives me that grossed out feeling--you know?

But a Disney cruise? Absolutely unforgettable. We took one in March with our kids and it was literally the trip of a lifetime. The other trip we just barely took can't even compare to Disney. It was truly an amazing week. So if you have a chance-- GO FOR IT!! Even if it means telling your family a little early--just do it. Too amazing to skip.

I have the disturbing dreams too. They've all been about school buses lately. Backing up over children, having a shooter on board. It's awful. bawling.gif I woke up crying yesterday. At least there was a heroine in tonight's dream. I still keep having trouble believing this is real. I don't want to keep posting in the TTC thread because they all know that I'm obviously pregnant. I took another test this morning. I'm 3w5d or 12dpo (estimated). We dtd that resulted in this pregnancy 14 days ago. I got my first positive on Monday, December 16th, which was 6-8dpo. After today's test, I'd like to stop worrying:

Thanks for the cruise info, beccawprice! Maybe I'll get some of those motion sickness wrist bands - I'm allergic to ginger. Is Dramamine safe in pregnancy?

I googled Dramamine like crazy, and yeah, it's fine during pregnancy. I've tried the wrist band things and they just annoyed me, but I know lots of people swear by them. I hope you have so so much fun! Which ship are you on?

But I feel like crap. My esophagus feels like hamburger from all the acid. Any remedies for that?

Yes, Slippery elm can help heal your esophagus. You can make a tea or stir the powder into some applesauce.

I got my first positive on this past Friday, Dec. 20th, though it was pretty faint. Saturday I used a better quality test and it was a definite BFP. This is my first pregnancy ever. I'm super excited and also super full of anxiety about the possibility of a mc. I've had some nausea, sore boobs and an almost constant dull cramp in the very lower portion of my abdomen. Similar to AF cramps but also very different. I'm also having some gas. I keep worrying with the cramps that any moment I'll start bleeding. :\ I've read cramps are normal, but I wish I could make myself understand that more! Anyone else having these dull, constant cramps? Oh, I'm at about 4 weeks, 2 days, roughly.

4wk 5d here.. totally having cramps too.

Pretty sicky and yucky over here.  Even just thinking about being pregnant grosses me out.  Pregnancy just seems so gross to me sometimes lately.  Anyone know what I mean?  I'm super thankful to be pregnant and having stronger symptoms this time.  But I just feel like everything is gross.

I threw up for the first time today at lunch. I was with my family that doesn't know I am pregnant. I bent over to pick up a spoon off the floor and then had to dash to the bathroom. I almost took our the waiter and everyone was staring at me when I got back. I have spent the rest of the day throwing up. Hoping to get it under control soon, I need to go to Kohls tonight to finish up some Christmas shopping.

Yep, this is exactly how I feel. And everything is just a little too much. I was looking out the window earlier this morning looking out at the rain, and I swear it was making me dizzy. Colors are too bright, noises are too loud, and this spinning planet of ours makes me dizzy smile.gif!

i always feel that way at the beginning.  fat, foggy, tired, floppy, blech, etc.  not sick most of the time, but gross.

and i hate how all my pants are already super snug and uncomfortable.  but not in a pregnant way, just in a bloated way.  and in a my thighs have decided an extra inch of cellulite was necessary sort of way.....

i'm not sure if it's pregnancy or age, but for the first time in my life, getting in the mood is challenging.  my husband and i have been married for over 12 years, and intimacy was always simple and pretty easy.  but now, my body seems to be uninterested.  especially in lubrication.  which has never been a challenge, so it's a big shocking and HURTS.  poor husband is very very confused and i'm trying to figure out how to deal w/ this new twist!  BTDT mamas????

Oh my god I never had nausea like this with either of my other pregnancies. I would have puked this morning if there was anything in my stomach. Spent almost the whole day nauseous too.

Does anyone have any sleeping tips? I've been up at 2:30am for the past several days. I tried putting a small pillow between my knees, but it hasn't really made a difference. I tried a calming mantra and breathing exercises, but I'm just having no luck yet. I think the crappy sleeping may be from a sore shoulder from sleeping on my left side - I may try propping myself up on an additional pillow.

I joked to my husband that mother nature is ramping us up (I wake him with my tossing) in preparation for what's to come. Evolution at it's finest!

I look forward to any insight you may have. Thanks!

aprilh - I had that for 2-3 days at a time for a couple of weeks and it seems to be lessening.  My heart was always thumping when I woke up... is yours?

Now I have flipped to the other side and have some really super heavy duty fatigue (yes, all those adjectives are necessary)!  It's a big deal for me to even make it out to the mailbox!

ugh and also had my first queasy day.  i wasn't queasy all day, but kinda felt off, and after a big dinner and doing chores, puked my guts out.

i was a little queasy today, but eggs, spinach and some ham cleared that right up.

so here's hoping it doesn't become full-fledged morning sickness!
