I am in limbo right now because on Monday when we had our first ultrasound at 7 weeks, they told us that the baby's heart was beating at 125 bpm, right on target and also growth was right at 7 weeks which was good, but the yolk sac is enlarged and measuring 8mm. It isn't supposed to get larger than 5mm usually. When it is enlarged, 2/3 of the time it ends in miscarriage because of chromosomal abnormalities or baby is born with birth defects. 1/3 of the time it is a fluke and nothing to worry about, but the more I read stories from others the more I am preparing myself for the most likely outcome. :-(
I have a follow up scan on Tuesday the 17th. I will post an update as soon as I know something.
