Baby sleeping 8 hours at night....supply concern?

So a few nights ago my LO (5 months old) started sleeping 8 hour stretches. While I am thrilled with the uninterrupted sleep, I wake up in serious pain. Should I be getting up to pump? If so, about how long into the night? 4 hours, 5 hours? Thanks!

Your supply is well established by now so it should be fine. If you pump, your body will continue to make more milk and you will continue to get too full. If you need to build up a stash and want to pump in the middle of the night, go ahead. If you would like to sleep, go ahead. I have hand expressed to relieve the pressure and gone back to sleep. If you LO continues this pattern, your breasts will figure it out and stopping making so much milk during the night. It just take several days for your body to catch up with your baby. If LO starts waking up more, your body will make more milk.

I was gonna say most of what pokey said! smile.gif Your body adjusts and your baby may even start eating more during the day to make up for night! Enjoy my baby is 13 months and just started sleeping an 8hour stretch.
