Anyone else bleeding?

When I went to the bathroom today, there was just a tinge of brown. I know it's nothing to worry about, but gah! I'm all freaked out.

I bled during the first trimester on and off with both my other pregnancies and I have no history of miscarriage, just for some reason I've been more paranoid this time around. So finding even a little blood just sent me off my rocker.

Anyone else in the same boat?

no- but praying for you!

i just posted in the other forum that my dr has diagnosed me as a threatened miscarriage and wants to do bloodwork accordingly.  do you want to go in and do the bloodwork and see what's going on?  i took a pregnancy test this am again (my other one was very faint) and this one was really strong.....

blessings!

Thanks! I've already stopped and I didn't have any cramping or anything. I'm honesty thinking it was from sex 2 nights ago and it was just a small enough amount that it took this long to travel down, so to speak. :-P

I haven't gone in for bloodwork and I don't think I will. If I do lose the baby I'll be incredibly sad, but I don't think at this point I'll take extreme measures to keep it, if that makes sense. I'll just try again later!

Oh ladies, I'm so sorry you're having this worry! I spotted at five and eight weeks with my first. Doc at the time also said threatened miscarriage despite an ultrasound right after the first spot that confirmed all was well. Delivered a very healthy little girl 8 months later. If you aren't having any cramping and still "feel pregnant " I'd say you're just fine smile.gif.

Yup. Had light pink/brown spotting at 6 weeks with this pregnancy, and in several previous pregnancies as well. I wouldn't be concerned unless I had severe cramping and the bleeding started to increase instead of lighten up.

It went away, but came back and is pink now. I guess only time will tell. :-/

So sorry you are dealing with this worry.  I had a MMC (missed miscarriage) in February earlier this year and I never had any bleeding or signs.  On the other hand my friend bled every day with her son and had a healthy pregnancy.

Ugh. I wish that things would just go back to normal or it would happen already.

I had one more time of a tiny bit of pink spotting last night, but then nothing. I decided to just act ask normal and DH and I ended up DTD. Well, started at least. Ended up stopping because there was bright red blood. I cried and cried last night being convinced I was miscarrying, but now there's nothing again. I wish I was far enough along to go in for an ultrasound so l could see what's happening. I don't usually do ultrasounds at all, but I'd do this one just to know. Only 4w5d today though, so an ultrasound wouldn't show much of anything useful.

So sorry you're stuck in the middle of this limbo land.  HUGS.  I spent my whole second trimester of my first pregnancy there.  Even ultrasounds couldn't give me any answers for months.  I know how rough the roller coaster can be.  If it helps at all, I have a beautiful, healthy daughter to show for the ride.  I hope things work out as well for you.

Decided to take a test today just to see if it was darker and it definitely is. Last Sunday my first positive was so faint I wouldn't have known for sure it was a positive if I didn't already know a line is a line. Then two days later it was just a bit darker. Today it's nice and dark.

I'm also wondering if my progesterone levels could be low. I'm nursing my toddler still and I've been known to spot before my period actually starts. I even spotted for 6 days with my implantation bleeding, which from what I understand is abnormally long. Wondering if I should either go to the doctor to test for it or if I should get some natural progesterone cream or something.

get tested.  and then you can supplement.

my last cycle my levels were really low (first cycle PP) and i probably wouldn't have maintained a pregnancy.  this cycle is totally different.

if i had spotting w/ my current nursing patterns and everything else, i wouldn't hesitate to get it tested and support it a bit.

if your levels are high enough, you can also be at peace about it.

my 2 cents.

I just spoke with my midwife. She wants me to take wild yam or progesterone cream as well as one baby aspirin a day. Also wants me on pelvic rest until we know for sure and said I can get an ultrasound at 6 weeks if nothing else happens. So we'll see!

My doctor told me if I start bleeding to use more progesterone, so I think that could definitely help you out!

Is yours a prescription or over the counter? I couldn't get any at my regular grocery store yesterday, so I'm going to check the health food store today. The pharmacist said that over the counter is such a small amount that it won't do anything though. She didn't even know why I was told to take it though.

Everything I've read said that the OTC and natural creams will do nothing but placebo effect. That there isn't enough progesterone to raise blood levels or even get in to support progesterone production in the uterus. People with serious progesterone deficiencies need a lot and need either injections or suppositories.

Mine is called Progestelle.  It's natural progesterone and coconut oil, that's it. I got it from Amazon.com.  It's gotten great reviews.  The first few times I used it, my skin where I applied it got really warm.  So I think it's doing something.  How much of a something, I'm not sure.

I do think serious deficiencies probably need something more.

Yay! joy.gif I was just reading through this thread for the first time and hoping I would be able to see how it's going for you. That's so wonderful. I always bleed after sex during pregnancy. There are so many more blood vessels there. I freaked 22 weeks in with my last baby because it was a lot and I had a m/c the previous pregnancy. Everything was fine. The blood before my m/c started out brown and thicker, came and went for a couple days, and then it happened. greensad.gif I don't want to scare you. I want to encourage you! Blood can be totally normal. smile.gif

Is there any reason to go to an OB at this point to try to figure out the source of the bleeding? I birth with a home birth midwife normally, but I do have an OBGYN that I go to for Pap smears and what not. I won't be seeing my midwife until the beginning of February, so by then this point will be moot, ya know?
