On a lighter note!

Who here is due soon?  I am 37 weeks with baby #4 - my due date based off of when I suspected I ovulated would be January 2nd, and December 28th off of my LMP.  Since I seem to have my babies early (twins at 36+3 and single at 38+6), I'm expecting this little one any day.  I have had several bouts of prodromal (practice!) labor so far, and I have been dilated to 3 cm since 33-34 weeks.  I'm now a very stretchy 4 cm (80%+ effaced), I've had lots of bloody show(s), and I can feel the baby fully engaged with a little bit of bulging sac.  My contractions range from just some pressure to being crampy and uncomfortable, but nothing I really have to stop and breathe through.  I feel like I have a baby in my butt anyway!  Just waiting for some hard contractions and it'll be a done deal.  My last two labors were 4 hours and 1 hour, respectively.  Can't wait to meet my little one - and find out gender! :)

P.S. I hope to videotape!

38 weeks tomorrow, due 28 December per LMP. This is only my second child, so I don't have much of a history, but DD came at 38 + 5. Expecting little one any day with the increased frequency and strength of my braxton hicks ctx. Not really sure where I am dilation/effacement-wise, as I am UPing and don't really give a rip. No bloody show, but I also don't recall one last time (probably unwittingly flushed). Little one is engaged and, judging by her activity levels, eager to meet the world. Last labor was 5 hours without a hitch, expecting half that this time, statistically speaking. We had a super short ultrasound around 20 weeks at a commercial place to determine gender, and we are patiently awaiting the arrival of our second DD. joy.gif

Wow, nice!  I can't believe how similar our experiences are.

I have been UP'ing as well.  I learned to check my cervical dilation last time (didn't care when I was pg with twins though).  It is so incredible to be able to touch my baby's head before it's born.  Lol.  Interestingly enough, I've never had a bloody show before this.  With my twins, I had no spotting, no bloody show.  With my last, I had first trimester spotting, but no bloody show.  And this one, no spotting, but lots of bloody show!

Interested to see what my water is going to do this time.  With my twins, my water broke right before labor started.  Last time, I broke it with my finger when I started pushing.

I hope you continue to have similar experiences to me - a shorter labor this time!  I couldn't believe it when my husband said the time of birth on Maribel's birth video.  After I went and got comfortable with her, I was like, "What time did you say it was?  I was only in labor for a little over an hour?!" XD

Oh and btw, we have three girls!  We absolutely love having girls, but it would be interesting if we had a boy this time.  Can't wait, can't wait! :)

I'm 38+4 weeks, EDD December 23, based on known date of conception. It's sad that I know the date of conception but truth is, my husband and I just weren't too active at the time, lol. This will also be my fourth with my oldest being 4, daughter 2 1/2, and youngest will be 14 months tomorrow! We're hoping to slow down after this one but we'll see what happens!

For the first time, I feel more patient than ever on letting the baby pick it's birth day, which is strange for me but nice! I assume it's because there's so much going on with Christmas and everything. I'm hoping for the baby to be born before Christmas or right after.

40+2 weeks here! So exciting! Lots of new babies! Hope you ladies will let us now how things go! I've had lots of bh contractions for weeks and last couple weeks or so lots of shooting cervical pain..hoping something is going on down there but no other early labor symptoms, and baby feels like he's gonna dig his way out often times :-) I was kinda hoping baby would come by due date (12 th) just so I had a little recovery time before Christmas, but I suppose it doesn't really matter much. Although I've gotten to the point where I'm so tired of lugging my big pregnant belly around cleaning house and stuff that I've really been slacking. Got a good bit done today but ugh! I can't even put the towels up on the shelf really
Because my belly is so in the way!

Oh wow I didn't know so many others were so close too!

I was always very patient for my babies to come for my other pregnancies.  For some reason I'm really impatient to meet this one.  Like, pregnancy has its annoyances (I have heartburn right now just because I was bending over washing the girls' hair), but I'm definitely not as uncomfortable as I was [with my other pregnancies] - or as I could be!  Just super excited to meet this baby is all!  I made a guess earlier on that I'd have the baby between Dec 7 and Dec 20.  I know it's going to be before Christmas.  I think another reason I'm so impatient is that, the farther we go, the closer to other birthdays and holidays we get to.  (Also, I've started my leave already, come on baby!)  I have brothers with birthdays on Dec 24 (two brothers, the other set of twins in my family), Jan 1, and Jan 10.  Those are all my brothers.  And then my dad's birthday is Dec 28!  I never wanted to have kids around this time...not around holidays...and now look, I will have three around this time.  My third baby too, was born a day before her cousin's birthday in April.  Lol.

rlschrader, all of my girls are still little too.  The twins just turned 3 on the 7th, and my youngest is 19 months.  And like you, I'm definitely wanting to "slow down" a lot after this one!  These kids are wearing me out! :)

Yes, you will have your hands full too. As if you haven't heard that one before, lol! That seems to be the thing we hear most when we're out and about! How fun to have twins! I know it'd be a lot of work but fun. As much as I get worn out and stressed, I love having the kid close together and watching them grow up together...I wouldn't change a thing! smile.gif

Same!  I love having them close, because they play together and learn social skills better.  (We plan to homeschool/unschool, so, bonus!)  Having so many littles at once also gives me an excuse to buy cute things like toddler tables.  Lol.  Plus it's funny that people ask me if they're triplets all the time. XD

Here's my girls, in order of birth:

The thing I love the most about this pic is that they all plopped onto the couch like this of their own volition.  They are some tight sisters. <3

Oh my goodness, you make cute kids!! We plan on homeschooling as well, so I agree with you on the closeness in age being a bonus on that part, too!

Haha, thank you, they look funny in that pic, except for Jova on the left, she's at least making a normal face. XD

Cute kids! This'll just be my second and my first is two and three months or so now, so little gap but not huge. Will be interesting though seeing her with a new little baby. I have no clue if she'll be great or super jealous :-) and earlier in the month would have been nice! My mom's and hubby bday late Dec and Christmas, yikes! Plus I work a little from home so wasn't really planning on much time off. I groom dogs, and everybody wants fido or whatever cleaned up for Christmas...would have been nice to get a few in, but looking like I won't be able to now...bummer

You know, I've heard that it is hardest going from one to two kids!  I know with my twins, they were pretty nonchalant about having a new sister.  They certainly loved having a baby around because they're little mini mommies lol.  But the fact that they had each other I think helped with any jealousy.  I think if anyone gets jealous of this new one, it's going to be little Maribel.  She's kind of more of a handful to begin with, but even so, she's pretty close with her sisters and also loves babies.  I hope the transition goes well.  Just need to remember to hold my older babies enough. :) <3

Btw where in MN are you?  I'm actually in the Moorhead, MN now instead of Fargo, ND, though it still says ND on my profile.

Ya, I'm thinking as long as I make sure to include my daughter in what I can so she doesnt feel left out she should probably be fine. Right now she just loves helping mommy with anything she can like laundry, cooking and so on...So, maybe I can put the diapers somewhere she can reach so she can get them or whatever...little things like that should help :) And she loves babies as well...always saying baby!!! when she sees one somewhere..

I'm in jordan, mn :)

This is amazing because although we're currently in Arkansas, I'm from Grand Rapids, MN and we plan on moving back someday soon! Small world, lol!!

And I agree, the transition is harder going from 1-2 kids, I think more emotionally for me though. It's easier as the kids get older and can help out more...my four year old is amazing!

Haha! Funny! Five centimeters and nothing?! Bummer! I have no clue what I'm at. My cervix is either still just that high up or its because I have insanely tiny hands/short fingers. My husband says I have T-rex hands. Haha! Strong Braxton hicks but that's been going on for what seems like forever. Lots pain, pressure down there but nothing else. Still have plug as far as I know and I'm 40+5 now...really would love to get on with this!
