41w2d and loopy

I'm 41 weeks, 2 days and feel normal movement, but no surges with much feeling or consistentcy. I believe it's normal to go to 42 weeks, and over all I feel fine (giant and uncomfortable but fine), but I'm starting to go crazy and feel like this baby is never going to come. I'm trying to stay positive, at peace, enjoy this time with my husband and 2.5 year old (who came naturally on his due date). I did some natural enimas yesterday, have been walking, taking lots of Epsom salt baths, birthing tea, magnesium drinks, resting etc. Tonight I've slept hardly at all because I've been up with a headache most of the night. Anyone else go this far over with some advice? Will this baby ever come out?

In my ICAN group a lot of women go "late" (the leader actually went to 43 weeks with her VBA2C) and it seems to me as soon as you reach that emotional "I'm going to be pregnant forever!" stage, you'll have the baby really soon.

Have you been to a chiropractor? Or checked out spinningbabies.com for positioning help? I know with my last one she was OP and it held things up. As soon as she turned, boom, labor.

hug.gif I have been there, I have been there! Of my five biological children, the earliest came at 41+1, and the latest at 42+3 (all spontaneously). Right now I'm at 40+2, so you can imagine I'm not hopeful about this baby coming today. :/

I know it's frustrating. It's really hard to relax and remember that babies come when they come. If you want to try natural induction techniques, I recommend sticking to things that are relaxing and enjoyable (like long walks, sex, and foods that you actually LIKE anyway). Don't make yourself more miserable by forcing yourself to eat pineapple if you hate it, or make yourself sick with castor oil, because if it doesn't help then you're twice as stressed (and stress is counter-productive).

Rest as much as you can, distract yourself whenever possible, avoid people who keep asking when that baby is coming, and as long as there are no signs of trouble just have faith that baby WILL come eventually.

And then come back and give me this pep talk next week when you have a baby and I'm the one going insane. :P

Hang in there.  I've gone to almost 42 twice (41w6d and 41w5d) both which ended up being inductions.  My midwife said to me once that going past your due date is like the 9th ring of hell.  And I completely agree.  Until you've been there you don't understand at all.  It drives me crazy when friends who always have their babies early try to compare pregnancies.

My 41 week appointment is in two days. Cross your fingers nobody says the word "induction."
