Goals for the new year

Thread Starter

Would anyone like to share their New Years Resolutions?  I love making them but rarely stick to them.  My goal had always been to loose weight or work out but I am finally at peace with my body and actually like it.  This year has been crazy for me with a new baby, new job and a new house.  I have changed so much and look forward to improving more next year.  So I am sharing my goals to help with accountability.

-Read the entire bible

-Practice Yoga Every Day

-Show my husband more affection

-Be happier around my son and less anxious about parenting in general

-get a promotion

-launch our internet business

I want to listen more.

Be less about me

I would like spend more time pursuing things that interest me, like sewing and writing. I also have a goal of making a lot of memories with my family. We haven't been able to take a vacation and I'd really like to do that.

For me, I prefer to think of it more as goal-setting instead of resolutions. Helps me stick to it more, I guess. My major ones are -

- Not screw up the new job promotion I got. ;-)

- Pay off the credit card (we're so close!).

- Save a down payment for a house (we could actually realistically do it this year if we get serious).

- Possibly get pregnant with Baby #2 in the later half of 2014.

-spend less money

-grow more of our own food

-get a few lambs/one fiber goat

-spruce up the bunny area

Wait, this is sounding more like a to-do list.

I just want to be more present. There's a goal.

The primary goal is be healthier.  I need to shed some pounds and be more regular about exercise.

Other goals:

Pass the rest of the tests to be an enrolled agent (will be done by February)

Continue to pay down debt, and then work on building our savings.

Decluttering will continue to be worked on, especially my closet and the homeschool room.

I want to beat a food addiction.

Great thread idea! Here are mine:

1. Learn more German so that I am more comfortable leaving the post.

2. Get out of the house and do more day trips with my younger kids.

3. Join a Bible study.

4. Once a month Date Night with cultural exploration as a focus.

5. Do a better job of staying in touch with family & friends back in the states.

Mine are:

1. Finish projects than I never finished (like my husbands blanket I started last year)

2. Lose weight....I want to lose 100 lbs total so I am setting it small....aiming for like 20 lbs right now

3. Pay down some debt

4. Enroll in college to finish my degree

5. Decluttering...it's an every year goal lol

6. Start to save for a down payment on a home

7. spend more time with my family

Okay, I thought of another one. It seems small and kind of dumb... but I totally want to wear matching underwear. Half the time I just throw on which ever bra and panties are clean, and lately I've tried to wear matching sets or at least coordinating colors and it makes me feel slightly less frumpy when I'm having a frumpy-feeling moment. So there you have it. :-)

Dd2 had a really sweet idea for the New Year. She suggested we write down the bad things about 2013 and burn them in a fire (we used candles, but maybe a fire next year). On the other side of the paper we wrote our wishes for 2013. I don't really like "resolutions" because I just feel crappy if I don't live up to them. So my wishes for 2013 were travel, fun with friends, travel with friends (we have the best vacation weekends w/ friends — the kids love them), and exercise. Some of the bad things about 2013 I'd like to get rid of are clutter and stress.

I'd also like to do something with my underwear. I've been wearing multi-pack panties since DS was born and I'm a little tired of the granny panty look! :lol   Yay for trying to feel less frumpy!

Sometimes it's the little things that do the trick. :-)
