I'm filling out my healthcare.gov application right now and I'm wondering if I should check the box that says that I'm pregnant or what it would mean if I did/didn't.
I'm 30 weeks and I don't have any insurance and I live on a limited income, but I don't really want to deal with medicaid. I applied for medicaid earlier on in the pregnancy and they gave me the run around. It was a big pain and my case ended up closing because I didn't meet the deadlines for filing papework. I understand that if you make less than a certain amount AND are a pregnant woman that you qualify for medicaid.. I certainly qualify, but I just want a normal health plan with a tax credit.
Any thoughts on this? Does anyone know what difference it makes to say that you're pregnant? Can they force you to sign up for medicaid?
