Help figuring out the math for chicken pox exposure

A local acquaintance of mine's hubby somehow came down with chicken pox. Her family is now off on vacation but before she left she had two other families - five kids total - over to play. I will be out of town from the 26th to the 6th. I'd like to expose my kids (not vaxed for chicken pox) but don't think it's possible to expose them before our trip. But if those five kids all catch it, will they still possibly be contagious when we get back?

(I imagine they will pass it along to another family and hopefully I can get an opportunity to expose later on down the chain if I can't get the next round.)

I think the math is slightly on your side.  One or more of those kids probably did not get chicken pox from the play date, but very well might get it from a sibling. You can expose in round two.
