Anyone else telling family over Christmas?

After our good ultrasound yesterday (which I know doesn't completely take away the risk of miscarriage, but it does reduce it), we decided to tell everyone as part of Christmas. I bought my girls (almost 2 and almost 5) matching "big sister" shirts that they get to open tonight before we go to their grandparents' to celebrate Christmas (and wear over to show the news). I feel excited, but nervous. Especially with the spotting I've been having (though the ultrasound tech said she couldn't see any reason for the spotting). At least I'll be able to tell them why mama is bent over a toilet!

Anyone else telling people for Christmas?

ME!!!

i've decided to let the kids know for christmas (they're suspicious), and just to go ahead and let everyone know.

i have no idea how to do it cute and snazzy though.  i've always wanted a clever and cute baby announcement..... but have no idea how to make that happen!?

how are you gonna do it?

We had our 3 year old tell everyone "there's a baby in mamas belly" (well, he'll be 3 in 3 days). It got a lot of smiles

I knit a cute pair of booties that I'm having the kids unwrap tomorrow. So excited!

Like you, Becca, we wrapped up a little pair of white booties for Mom-in-law to open. I attached them with a little ribbon and a tag that says, "Merry Christmas, Grandma!". Can't wait to see her face!

We are telling my parents. We always give them picture frame ornaments of the kids and I added one in that said coming soon in august 2013. We are not telling our kids yet so we have to find a time to give it to them when they are not around

I hope you wrote August 2014 (not 13)!

Told my girls this morning. I recorded them opening up the shirts, but DD1 didn't get it and when I finally spelled it out to her she was like "oh, okay." Got excited later though and has gone around telling all the relatives as we visit them.

Yes!

We told my hubby's folks just as soon as the shock wore off when we found out several weeks ago.  we told the munchkins also but they were under strict orders to only talk about mama's baby with people who live in our house!  (The oldest spilled to her whole kindergarten class a week ago just before break but at that point we were only keeping it from my family who live across the state...)  Hubby told his brother on Monday without much fanfare because BIL and wife lost a baby just last summer and we werent sure about how sensitive the topic was.  My brother and sis called to say merry christmas and we told them they were being upgraded to uncle and auntie x3.  it took them a minute to catch on... haha!

Since this baby was kinda planned (we were going to wait a bit longer after getting my iud out but apparently we're too good at this baby making thing... :Sheepish) We wanted to have some fun with telling somebody this time around. We've been trying to come up with something unique to do and then on christmas morning there was this child-sized box and DD1 wanted to get in the box and be a present...

We took a pic of me opening DD1 in the box, then one of me opening DD2 in the box and then drew a large red question mark on some white tissue paper and took a pic of me opening the box with that in it.  Then I sent the three pictures to my folks and other sister.  My mother said she looked at them over and over and just didn't get it for a while.  They called me a couple hours after they first looked at the pictures to ask me if I was pregnant but even when she asked she didn't sound sure if that was the answer to the riddle!  It was very funny but they thought it was a very cute way of telling them and were very excited!

I can't wait!  We are going to visit the fam in law in Chicago.  About to make a baby foot stamp with my hand and making  a little card with a Merry Christmas!

I did the booties as well! There was the added bonus that once my parents got over the shock, my now fiancé pulled out a ring and proposed. It was a great Christmas :)

We told my hunny's parents the 22nd but my dad and stepmom on Xmas day. DF mom bought me a lil stuffed zebra in November and said " it's not for you, it's for the baby when it comes" I was like but I am not even trying to get prego? So I wrapped it up with a lil heart on its wrist that said " the tests said yes, we love you" she cried! My dad and stepmom got a box marked OPEN TOGETHER... Inside was the book 'The Pokey Little Puppy' which my dad read to me over and over as a child. Even on tape when he went over seas with the Air Force. Inside the cover I wrote, " Please read this to me when I come in August (or September if I am late.) <3 Baby Lopez. "
My dad took a min but my stepmom got it right away! He looked at a few times and back at us. Then he started to tear up and went out to the garage. It was nice.
