How do you recycle? Bins?

It's time for me to start! And, I HATE clutter! I hate the idea of bags or tubs of stuff hanging out all over. :

How do you organize all of your goodies?

ANyone have a tiered recycling tub system? Seems ironic to go buy plastic, but...
I would love a 3 tiered system w/a hook on the side to hold cardboard. Something, that you could just lift the tubs out, or off, and put them in the car when it's time.

Please?

Ha! You're in the planning stages still and you sound more organized than I.

I keep a paper bag from the grocery next to the garbage can... all recyclables get thrown in there. Dh sorts out his aluminum pop cans (he's addicted to Coca-Cola) for cash and the rest of the recycling gets sorted into three containers. Every other week they come down the alley and pick it up. They allot each household one very small container. : My MIL doesn't recycle (hence, has more garbage than our four person household) so she gave us her city-purchased container. Our third container is an old 14 gallon plastic kitchen wastebasket.

Someday I'll get more organized about it... but right now the house is under construction. :LOL

PS- Menard's has some neat recycling systems/containers and I plan to go there this summer after our remodeling/addition is done.

We have the best system in our area (Seattle area)! Each house gets a HUGE (way bigger than our trash can) recycling can you just put all your recycling in! We wash cans/plastic in the dishwasher before we throw them in and fold cardboard. Everything else just gets thrown in. It is wonderful! And, statistically, more cost efficient than seperating into bins *before* pickup.

I bought 2 laundry baskets. Now, with the green recycling basket that came with the house, I have a total of 3 baskets. I cleaned out our hall/foyer closet and put them down on the floor. It's near the kitchen, lucky for me.

I put all recyclables in those bins. When a bin is full enough, I put it directly at the curb. I hate having to deal repeatedly with recyclables.

I also ended up using 2 smaller wastebaskets for upstairs, as catchers for my plastics and fiberboard, which seems to accumulate upstairs. Periodically, I bring them downstairs.

We put lastics, alluminum and tin in one container, cardboard and newspaper, theoretically , gets bundled. we have a huge cardboard recycling thing at our store (as in dumpster) and we don't get the paper so all we have is the bin. They don't accept a lot but curbside pushed the privately owned places out of business also pushed the mentally challenged out of thier only source of income - there was a group of them who collected cans and paper and people would save it for them and they would come around and pick it up on bikes and cash it in - pretty lucrative way to get some spending money and feel like you were contributing. You can still turn a profit on alluminum if you are recycliung things like bikes and store fixtures (where dh worked they used to just trow it away and so he would dig it out and recycle and come home with a $50-$100 bonus for hauling off a little garbage. Anywho, I just keep the garbage company's bin beside the cans and stand at my back door and chuck it streight out. We don't have that much recyclable garbage.

Those are nice busymommy!

We have an enourmous recycling bin, one of those hugh city paid for ones on wheels. But they make us put everything in plastic bags before tossing it in the bin. We don't have to sort it but we do have to use those recycleable walmart/grocery store type bags, which is fine with me anyway.
