A silly question about pants

So, I'm in dire need of some new jeans. I have two pairs that I've mended already than have holes yet again. But do I buy pants right now when they won't fit in a mere few months? I think I was into maternity pants by the beginning of the second trimester last time, so maybe even less. And I also believe I have a nice pair of maternity jeans in a box somewhere.

What would you ladies do? Buy new pants? Hem old pants again? Switch to maternity jeans early? I'm having trouble making a decision!

Will your winter shirts hide the panel? If so, I'd just move into maternity pants, but I'm cheap.

I'm cheap too. :-) Yeah all my shirts err on the long side, so it would be covered.

I'm in my maternity jeans smile.gif!! Got a cute new pair from Old Navy for $30. They have the added benefit of making me look very pregnant wink1.gif.

My vote is for the low panel maternity jeans. But you know your body best. Those work great for me the entire pregnancy and postpartum, whereas full panel jeans only work for the last month or so.

I searched and searched, but couldn't find my nice maternity jeans for the life of me! Ended up trying on regular jeans and almost started crying in the store before buying maternity jeans. They fit really well even though they're full panel. Don't know if they'll fit in the last few months though given their tightness now (they're stretchy skinny jeans). Gotta do what works though! Thanks ladies!

Yep, I would've voted for the maternity jeans too. We're visiting family but as soon as I get home I'm popping on my skinny maternity jeans ASAP!

Please excuse the silly question I'm about to ask, but I know that you begin showing in your second trimester- Do you find it hard to fit into pre-pregnancy pants prior to that? I'm only asking because I just noticed that a pair of my non-stretch pants are a bit snug in the middle, and I'm not sure if it's because I've been a little overzealous with the pregnancy snacks or if it's natural progression. I'm 5.5 weeks, so i wouldn't think I'd start to get thick around the middle yet!

I started looking five months pregnant the instant I got my BFP! It's my third pregnancy though, so my body apparently just knows what to do. :-P Even for your first pregnancy though, it's not uncommon to get bigger before technically showing. Your digestive slows down, which causes gas/constipation and that'll for sure make you look larger.

Ohh I've been feeling the slow digestion lately! How is it possible to be at the same time so hungry yet feel so full?! 🙊

Starting at 5 weeks I had the same thing happen. In fact I'd lost 6lbs by that point so I knew I wasn't fatter. Whether it is bloating or just not liking the pressure on my belly, I can 't stand my normal jeans now and have made it through the last two and a half weeks in leggings and sweatpants.

I couldn't find those nice maternity jeans. :-(

So I went to this nice second hand store thinking I'd find some regular jeans, but absolutely nothing fit me right and made me feel good. Ended up going to target and buying maternity jeans (the super tight stretchy type) and I love them! Bonus that they have a full panel and it kind of smooths out my stomach so it looks less fat and more pregnancy bump. Even if it is a gas bump!

I don't want to put on my maternity jeans yet! I feel like it is way too early! :) I'm not trying to tell anyone, and I'm not good at wearing clothes and not lifting up my shirt and doing crazy dance moves with my toddler, everyone would be like "ummm you're pregnant" And the only response I can think of is, no it's just holiday fat?!

this is my 4th baby and I am out of all my regular jeans and looking pregnant already. I'm only 9 weeks. If it weren't for the fact I have pants a few sizes bigger than my normal due to the up and down pregnancy and postpartum size rollercoaster I'd be in maternity pants already. I've had to put my normal pants all away. I'm trying to hold out until 11 weeks before switching because that seems more reasonable :p

I hide under my lab coats at work, but by last week the babybloatbelly was getting pretty ridiculous. It's my 4th pg, and I think I've been showing earlier each time. I'm heavier now than with the earlier ones, though, so am going with the "holiday cookies" idea for the time being. I don't have many pg clothes - one tub, mostly work clothes - but haven't brought them out just yet. Think I'm being superstitious. Last time I discovered my mmc a week after breaking out the maternity wardrobe.

well I decided to get out the mat clothes today. I just couldn't bring myself to wear yoga pants to Mass! :p
