HELP ABOUT XRAyS WITH NO APRON PLEASE

Thread Starter

Hi, i had two dental xrays during the 8-10 weeks of my pregnancy. The thing is i was not provided with a lead apron. I'm quite worried about this as I am carrying my baby girl, 21 weeks now going to 22. I know the beam was not directed at my ovaries or pelvis region (i hope) but am worried about scatter or background. Does anybody know anything about this? Please help me How much did I put my baby at risk here? :(

Did they not offer a n apron to be worn'? Did you ask for an apron and was declined?
They X-rays are so short and I am sure everything is okay. Maybe call you midwife or doctors for reassurance.

I wouldn't worry about it. It is a good idea to avoid xrays or wear an apron out of precaution, but really the radiation is about the same as flying on an airplane which pregnant women do all the time. I'm sure your baby is fine! But i agree, talk to your care provider for reassurance and maybe ask the dentist why they didn't have you wear one, since you could have avoided feeling so worried.
